摘要： A cash dispensing automated banking machine includes a card reader associated with a card slot. An anti-fraud sensing device is able to sense ambient light or generated radiation that passes to the sensing device through the card reader slot. The installation of an unauthorized card reading device on the machine changes at least one property sensed by the sensing device. A controller in the machine receives signals from the sensing device, and determines if an unauthorized card reading device has been installed.

摘要： Apparatus and method for detecting and interfering with an unauthorized device attempting to acquire user identification information at cash dispensing automated banking machine. The apparatus includes a sensing device enabled to detect RF or other radiation transmitted from the unauthorized device in a proximity of the machine. A controller causes the machine to take at least one action responsive to detection of the unauthorized device. The action may include generating a warning screen on the machine display, capturing an image, sending a message to an entity at a remote location, or emitting interfering radiation from an emitter.

The apparatus includes an emitter for emitting radiation at one or more frequencies to interfere with actual or suspected radiation transmitted from an unauthorized device in a proximity of the banking machine. The radiation may be substantially continually emitted or emitted responsive to a user supplying input to the machine. The radiation may be emitted over a plurality of frequencies within a frequency range associated with unauthorized devices. Additionally, the machine may include a sensing device for monitoring the nature and quality of unauthorized radiation.

摘要： An automated banking machine is operative to dispense cash to authorized users. The user interface of the machine includes features for detection of fraudulent activities at the machine. Sensors are provided for detecting the installation of unauthorized card reading devices adjacent the card reader. Vibration sensors are used to detect the installation of unauthorized card reading or bill trap devices. A machine controller or other processor is programmed to detect events or circumstances which may indicate that improper activity is occurring. Cameras are used to capture images of the user interface. Changes in the images are analyzed by a computer to detect the installation of unauthorized devices.

摘要： An automated banking machine includes a Global Positioning System (GPS). The machine can transmit a GPS location reading to a security center. The security center can compare the received GPS location to a location assigned to the machine. If the compared locations do not match then a determination is made that the machine was stolen. Responsive to a determination of theft, dye packs located in the machine can be activated to stain cash therein. The dye packs can also be set off if the machine's safe door is opened without the following a predetermined sequence for opening the door. Thus, cash in a stolen automated banking machine can be rendered as unusable.

摘要： An automated teller machine (ATM) (10) includes an input device (16) a card reader (20), a cash dispenser (24), and an output device (18). The ATM is operative to read account information from a card with the card reader and validate a user PIN input through the input device. The ATM may also be operative to dispense cash with the cash dispenser and dispense digital content with the output device responsive to user input selections. The ATM may be further operative to charge a user fee to an account associated with the card for the dispense of cash and digital content. Digital content dispensed by the ATM may include sound recordings such as MP3 files, video files, books, graphics, photographs, and other digital data. In cases where the ATM dispenses visual content the output device may include a printer that is operative to output printed photographs. Photographic image files may be acquired by the ATM from a remote photo processor or other digital information source accessible through the Internet or other network. The ATM may be operated through user inputs to manipulate image files. Image files may also be selectively received from or dispensed to a portable storage medium through a reading device or recording device connected to the ATM. Fees associated with the dispense of the image files may be transferred from an account associated with a user.
