    • An elastic arm (2), having a shaking prevention projection (3), is formed on one connector (1), and a recess (5) for fitting engagement with the projection (3) is formed in the other connector (4). When the two connectors (1, 4) are completely fitted together, the projection (3) is engaged in the recess (5) in such a manner that front and rear surfaces (3a, 3b) of the projection (3) are held in intimate contact with front and rear surfaces (5a, 5b) of the recess (5), respectively. These surfaces (3a, 3b, 5a, 5b) are slanting. When the projection (3) is engaged in the recess (5), elastic deformation of the arm (2) is canceled. The arm (2) extends straight along a connector fitting chamber (6), and the recess (5) is formed in an outer wall (45) of the connector (4). A lock mechanism (12, 27) for locking the two connectors to each other are provided generally in opposed relation to the arm (2). Second and third arms (31, 32) for shaking prevention purposes are provided 90° out of phase with the arm (2) in opposite directions. Preferably, the second and third arms (31, 32) are disposed flush with opposite side walls (30) of the connector (1), respectively, and each of the second and third arms has a projection (34; 35) which projects from the corresponding side wall (30).

    • An electrical contact includes an electrical contact portion which has a square tubular shape, and into which a mating contact is insertable. The electrical contact portion includes a bottom wall (6), a pair of opposite side walls (7, 8) extending upright from the bottom wall (6), a top wall (9) extending from one of the opposite side walls (7) and disposed in opposed relation to the bottom wall (6), and a reinforcing wall (12) formed integrally with the other one of the opposite side walls (8) and partially covering the top wall (9). A pair of lower and upper resilient contact pieces (18, 17) are formed integrally with the top wall (9) of the electrical contact portion, and located in the electrical contact portion. The lower resilient contact piece (18) extends from the top wall (9), and the upper resilient contact piece (17) opposes to the lower resilient contact piece. Distal end portions (18b, 17b) of the pair of lower and upper resilient contact pieces (18, 17) are extended in different directions away from each other. Holes (21, 22) for receiving the distal end portions (18b, 17b) of the pair of lower and upper resilient contact pieces (18, 17), are respectively formed through at least two of the walls (6, 9) of the electrical contact portion.

A bifurcated-resilient contact piece (16) extends from the vibration-absorbing plate (15) into the interior of the electrical contact portion (4), and can be electrically connected to the mating contact. A stopper wall (20) which extends downwardly from that end of the reinforcing wall (10), remote from the mating contact inserting-side, toward the bottom wall (6) so as to prevent excessive displacement of the vibration-absorbing plate (15).

    • A terminal metal fitting has a wire connecting portion to which an electric wire is connected and an electrically contacting portion to which a mating terminal metal fitting is connected. The electrically contacting portion is formed in a hollow quadrilateral cylinder. The mating terminal metal fitting has an insertion to be inserted into the electrically contacting portion. The electrically contacting portion has a flat bottom wall, a ceiling wall facing the bottom wall, and a pair of elastic pieces 15a, 15b. The elastic pieces 15a, 15b are arranged in an insertion direction of the insertion. One end portions 16a, 16b of the respective elastic pieces 15a, 15b integrally continue from the bottom wall. The elastic pieces 15a, 15b each are formed obliquely from the one end portions 16a, 16b toward the other end portions 17a, 17b, respectively, with respect to the bottom wall from the bottom wall toward the ceiling wall.
