摘要： PURPOSE:To enhance the drying curing characteristic of a film by economically using a liquid curing catalyst, by a method wherein a curing catalyst atomizing nozzle is provided in the vicinity of a paint atomizing nozzle to sprays the liquid curing catalyst in a mist form and paint is contacted with the catalyst at the time of the atomization of the paint. CONSTITUTION:The curing catalyst such as liquid amine supplied from a curing catalyst tank 12 is controlled to proper quantity in a painting booth 6 by a flowmeter 11 and a control valve to be sent to the two-head type painting gun 1 having a separate curing catalyst nozzle 17 provided in the vicinity of a paint nozzle 16 from a curing catalyst supply hose 14. Urethane resin paint is sent to the two-head type painting gun 1 by a paint supply hose 3 and atomized by air having predetermined atomizing pressure supplied from a paint atomizing air supply hose 2 to be emitted in a mist form from the paint nozzle 16 and contacted with the curing catalyst emitted in a mist form from the catalyst nozzle 17 at this time.

摘要： PURPOSE:To form a paint film having excellent corrosion resistance without requiring high temp. baking and heating, by applying an urethane resin paint to a metal cast and forged product to form a paint film which is, in turn, exposed to an amine atmosphere for a short time to be cured. CONSTITUTION:As an object to be painted, there are various cast and forged products made of a ferrous material and an aluminum die cast product etc. Each of these products is coated with urethane resin paint wherein a compound or resin having an isocyanate group is contained in a vehicle and the formed paint film is subsequently cured in an amine atmosphere of a gaseous phase state. As amine capable of being used, tertiary amine is pref. and each product is pref. exposed to amine in a gaseous phase for 1-10min under the slow speed recirculation of light wind with amine concn. of about 10-3,000ppm.

摘要： PURPOSE:To make the drying/curing characteristics and coating efficiency of a film excellent by scattering a liquid curing catalyst into paint atomizing air in a mist form and performing painting using an electrostatic painting method while said catalyst is brought into contact with atomized paint. CONSTITUTION:Urethane resin paint utilizing the reaction of polyisocyanate is applied using a curing catalyst (e.g., trimethylamine) to promote the drying and curing of the paint. At this time, the liquid curing catalyst from the paint atomizing air hose 14 from a hose 2 is dispersed in a mixer 10 to be supplied to a painting gun 1. The urethane resin paint supplied from a hose 3 is emitted while atomized in the painting gun 1 by air containing the atomized curing catalyst. Further, the static electricity obtained by a high voltage generator 19 is imparted to atomized paint particles as DC high voltage by the electrode 20 provided to the leading end of the gun 1. As a result, the paint film can be rapidly cured at room temp. and thick painting becomes possible and coating efficiency is enhanced.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain satisfactory chipping resistant performance for small film thickness by preparing a chipping resistant coating of a composition of an epoxy resin, a polyester polyol resin and a polyisocyanate compound blended at their respectively specified ratios. CONSTITUTION:An electrodeposition coating, a chipping resistant coating, an intermediate coating and a finish coating are applied over the other on the outer plate of an automobile body. In this coating method, the chipping resistant coating consists of a composition of (A) an epoxy resin with a number average molecular weight of 500 to 5000, containing a hydroxyl group, which is obtained by allowing 10 to 70 pts.wt. of a cyclic ester to react chemically with 100 pts.wt. of the resin solid portion of the epoxy resin with a hydroxyl group, (B) a polyester polyol resin with a number average molecular weight of 400 to 1000 containing a hydroxyl group, and (C) a polyisocyanate compound with a blocked isocyanate group. In addition, the isocyanate group of the component (C) is equivalent to 0.5 to 2.0 for one equivalent of the hydroxyl group of the components (A), (B).

Further, the ratio of an OH equivalent to an isocyanate equivalent is 0.5:1-2:1. On this coat, a heat curing resin paint or polyurethane resin paint is applied as a finishing paint. Then it is thermally cured at 80-140 deg.C for 20-60min. Consequently, a coat which can meet the flexibility of urethane RIM is formed.

At the same time of applying the base coating material, or after applying the base coating material and before drying, a tertiary amine is brought into contact with the base coating material to harden the film. Then an upper coating material is applied and dried.
