    • PURPOSE:To eliminate a need of optical couplers and branching devices and to reduce the insertion loss accompanied with them by attaching a connector plug for optical coupling which is provided with a light guide sleeve essentially consisting of a transparent material and a transparent window provided to face the terminal face of the light guide sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A connector plug 25 for connection to which a centering member of an optical fiber is set is attached to one end of an optical fiber cable 18 constituted by providing a coating around the optical fiber, and a connector plug 26 for optical branching/coupling provided with a centering member of the optical fiber, a light guide sleeve 22 which is arranged to surround the optical fiber and essentially consists of the transparent material, and a transpar ent window 21 provided to face a reflection face 23 of this sleeve is attached to the other end. Since the optical coupling function and the optical branching function are given to the optical fiber connector plug, independent parts such as optical couplers and optical branching devices are unnecessary and the num ber of connection points is reduced to reduce the connection loss.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce costs of core checking to a lage extent, by forming many parallel grooves and slant grooves on the outer surface of a bobbin, providing a slot in the direction of a bus line, winding the entire length of optical fiber core in the grooves, thereby realizing the state the core is made to be a cable. CONSTITUTION:Many grooves 2 are provided on the circumference of a bobbin 1. Slant grooves 3 are formed between the neighboring grooves 2. A slot 4 is formed along the entire length of the direction of the bus line of the bobbin. Optical fiber core to be checked is wound in one groove by several turns then wound in the next groove through the slant groove 3. After the entire length of the core is wound, the bobbin 1 is compressed so as to make the gap of the slot 4 zero. Then slack is yielded in the core, and the state similar to the actual state in the real optical cable is obtained. Under this state the amount of deterioration in the transmission characteristics of the core due to the slack is measured. Then the bobbin is put in a thermostatic bath, and the same measurement is performed. Since the state of the cable can be implemented, the manhours and the costs in checking and judging the optical fiber core can be reduced to a large extent.
