摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a nozzle structure for blowing gaseous oxygen or oxygen- containing gas in which the use efficiency of oxygen and powdery material is improved, the splash of molten metal and slag is minimized and the safe operation is secured by restraining the consumption of an electrode and the damage to a lance itself. CONSTITUTION:The nozzle in the lance is constituted of a divergent nozzle 15 for blowing the gaseous oxygen or the oxygen-containing gas at supersonic speed and a nozzle 16 arranged at an adjacent site above this nozzle for blowing the gaseous oxygen or the oxygen-containing gas at a supersonic speed or subsonic speed. By this constitution, the splash of the molten metal and slag caused by the gaseous oxygen or the oxygen-containing gas blown from the nozzle 15 at a supersonic speed is suppressed by the supersonic speed or subsonic speed jet from the nozzle 16 arranged at the adjacent site above the nozzle 15 to reduce the splash of the molten metal and slag. Therefore, the use efficiency of the gaseous oxygen is improved, and the splash of the molten metal and slag is minimized and a safe operation is secured while restraining the consumption of the electrode and the damage to the lance itself.

SOLUTION: A shaft-type pyrolytic melting furnace 1 is provided with a microwave transmitter-receiver 3 for measuring the bed-height of waste by way of reflection of microwaves on the upper portion of a cylindrical body 8 of a bed height measuring device 2 mounted on an opening 7 in the upper portion thereof, the cylindrical body 8 is provided with a porous ceramic plate 4 for partitioning the cylindrical body 8 in the lower portion thereof, the cylindrical body 8 partitioned by the microwave transmitter-receiver 3 and the porous ceramic plate 4 is provided with a purge-gas pipe 9 for blowing inert gas into the cylindrical body and a shut-off valve 10 for shutting off the same from the furnace.

CONSTITUTION: This gaseous oxygen blowing device is composed of a water or air cooled nonconsumable oxygen lance pipe 10 and a freely attachable and detachable consumable nozzle 14 mounted at the front end of this nonconsumable oxygen lance pipe 10. The gaseous oxygen is blowed in the state of immersing the consumable nozzle part at the top end part of lance pipe into the molten metal at the time of blowing of the gaseous oxygen. As a result, the utilization efficiency of oxygen is improved and the splash of the molten metal and slag is minimized. The free blowing of the gaseous oxygen into the furnace regardless of the furnace volume (furnace diameter and furnace height) is made possible while the wear of the electrode and the damage to the lance itself are suppressed.
