    • PURPOSE:To obtain the title reactor, the temp. of which can be easily controlled, by providing a metallic ball-packed bed on the upstream side of a catalyst bed, and furnishing nozzles for charging a fluid not contributing to the reaction in the spaces between the respective catalyst beds and the succeeding metallic ball-packed bed. CONSTITUTION:The multistage fixed bed catalytic reactor main body 1 is firstly heated by a heater 8 approximately to the operation temp. when a process fluid is charged. A liq. and a gas each preheated to the operation temp. are then fed from a feed port 9. Consequently, the liq. travels along the surface of the metallic ball in the metallic ball-packed bed 4, disperses in the radial direction, and descends. The gas passes through the gap between the metallic balls, and both components flow respectively into the catalyst-packed bed 3. An exothermic reaction occurs among the three gaseous, liq., and solid phases in the catalyst-packed bed 3, and the temp. is increased. The temp. is measured by a thermocouple 7 inserted into the catalyst-packed bed 3. When the measured temp. increases rapidly, the fluid not contributing to the reaction is fed from the nozzle 6 inserted in the space 5 to absorb the heat of reaction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coke oven gas desulfurization apparatus which stably and efficiently desulfurizes a coke oven gas. SOLUTION: Part of a catalyst-containing aqueous alkali solution 201 collected in a water collection part 215 on the bottom of a main tower body 210 through which a coke oven gas is passed from its lower part to its upper part is separated, and cooled and recirculated by being cooled by means of a first cooler 300 and by being sprayed through a first nozzle 216 in the middle of the main tower body 210 to form a cooling region 250 at the lower part of the main tower body 210. The remainder of the collected aqueous alkali solution 201 is cooled and recirculated by cooling by means of a second cooler 400, by being treated in an oxidation treatment tower 500 where the catalyst is oxidized, and by being sprayed through a second nozzle 217 on the upper part of the main tower body 210 to form a desulfurization treatment region 260 at the upper part of the main tower body 210. The first cooler 300 recirculates and cools the aqueous alkaline solution to bring it to a state in which the coke oven gas passing the cooling region 250 cools the coke oven gas to a temperature necessary for the desulfurization treatment in the desulfurization treatment region 260.     • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coke oven cooling apparatus for stably and efficiently cooling a coke oven gas.
      SOLUTION: A main tower body 210 through which a coke oven gas is passed from its lower part to its upper part is partitioned to form a first cooling chamber 230 at its lower part and a second cooling chamber 240 at its upper part. The coke oven gas is cooled to 50°C or higher by recirculating and cooling the tar-containing first recirculating cooling water 301 by means of a first cooler 300 to bring it to a state in which it is cooled after recovery from the bottom of the first cooling chamber 230 at 55°C or higher and is then sprayed over the top of the first cooling chamber 230 at 48°C or higher. The coke oven gas is further cooled to 35°C or lower by recirculating and cooling tar-free second recirculating cooling water 401 in the second cooling chamber 240 by means of a second cooler 400. The viscosity of the tar does not increase, and impurities in the coke oven gas are efficiently separated by means of the first recirculating cooling water 301.
