    • PURPOSE:To cool a silica brick without damaging the same and to make the brick reutilizable as it is by cooling the silica brick on a furnace wall so as to maintain the temp. difference between the furnace inside and shell side of the brick in a specified range during the downtime of a hot stove. CONSTITUTION:A through-hole 17 is provided in the hot stove wall consisting of a silica brick 13, a heat insulating brick 14, wool 15 and a shell 16 in order to prevent the cracking and collapsing of the brick 13 owing to the internal stress occurring in the temp. difference between the inside and outside of a hot stove when the hot stove is not going to be used for a long period in the stage of relining a blast furnace. A thermometer 18 is fixed in said hole by means of mortar or the like 13' equivalent to the brick 13. Said thermometer 18 is constituted of a working surface side 18-a, a shell side 18-c and an intermediate 18-b thereof. The cooling condition for the inside and outside of the hot stove is so adjusted that the temp. difference of the brick 13 between the furnace inside and the shell side is maintained in a specified range. The cooling rate is thus adjusted according to the temp. on the furnace inside to control the max. stress generated in the brick 13 within a limit, thereby preventing the damage thereof.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the control of the stock level in a relay hopper by using screening meshes having different mesh openings for the screening under containers for the raw materials to be charged into a blast furnace and adjusting the respective using ratios thereof. CONSTITUTION:Raw materials to be charged into a blast furnace are seieved to large lumps 10 which are plus mesh and small powder 11 which is minus mesh by screens 1'-8' provided to the bottom of containers. The lamps 10 are weighed with weighing devices 9 and are then fed into a surge hopper 19, from which the lumps are charged with a conveyor 23 into the blast furnace according to a charging schedule. On the other hand, the powder 11 is fed into a small lump hopper 14, where the powder is separated to small lumps 12 and powder 13. The lumps 12 are fed into a relay hopper 16. The desired amt. of the small lumps in the hopper 16 is weighed with a weighing device 18 by a feeder 17 with respect to the charging rate of the large lumps 10. When the time for charging the lumps 12 comes according to the charging schedule, the lumps 12 in the device 18 are fed to the hopper 19, from which the small lumps are charged with the conveyor 23 into the blast furnace.
