摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a flywheel generator which has sufficient levitation performance and whose electrical characteristics are not deteriorated by magnetic bearings which are composed of high temperature superconductors. CONSTITUTION:A generator has a flywheel 1, pole permanent magnets 1-1, levitation magnets 2-1 and magnetic bearings 2 and 3 which are comosed of levitation bulks 3-1 made of superconducting material and are positioned so as to face the levitation magnets 2-1. In this generator, the magnetic bearings 2 and 3 are so privided as to have outer diameters smaller than the center diameters of the pole permanent magnets. With this constitution, a large gap can be provided between a magnetic bearing levitation part and a stational part and the a large size flywheel generator which has the magnetic bearings composed of the high temperature superconductors can be obtained and, further, the disturbance of a magnetic field can be suppressed.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing a practically applicable large-size oxide superconductor by controlling the direction of the crystal. CONSTITUTION:In a process for coagulation of a semi-fused Y type superconductor having a composition of Y:Ba:Cu=(1.0 to 2.0):(2.0 to 2.5):(3.0 to 3.5), crystal growth is carried out under a condition where two travel speeds of the crystal growth temperature zone in mutually perpendicular directions are different. A large-size oxide super conductor obtained by this process enables improvement of the floating force and, therefore, remarkable improvement of the performance of the apparatus.

CONSTITUTION:A mixture of source powders for RE-Ba-Cu-O oxide superconductor (RE is a rare earth element including Y) is heated in a high temp. region where the mixture partly changes into a liquid phase, and then cooled to obtain a solidified material. This solidified material is pulverized and mixed to uniformly disperse the structure. Then the mixture powder is compacted into a specified shape and then again heated in a high temp. region where the body partly changes into a liquid phase to grow the superconductor phase.
