    • PURPOSE:To restrain the generation of smoke or the like effectively by a method wherein the amount of exhaust gas recirculation is controlled so as to be kept in constant in spite of the aging of a particulate trapper in the diesel engine. CONSTITUTION:A part of the exhaust gas from the engine 1 is taken out of the upstream side of the particulate trapper 4 and is recirculated into a suction air path 42 at the downstream side of an airflow meter 12 through an exhaust gas recirculating path 43. When a back pressure is increased by the aging due to the clogging of the particulate trapper, the amount of the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is increased by the increase of the back pressure even if the EGR valve 22 is keeping the same opening degree. A suction air volume is decreased by the increase of the amount of the EGR while the decreased amount is detected by the airflow meter 12. This information is inputted into a computor 11 together with the outputs of other various sensors. The result of the processing thereof is outputted to a vacuum control valve 21 from the computor 11 and the cacuum control valve 21 controls the EGR valve 22 so that the suction air volume actually measured by the airflow meter 12 coincides with an initial suction air volume.

    • PURPOSE:To permit to effect the precise control of a circulating amount by a method wherein the circulating amount of the exhaust gas is controlled by supplying an operating vacuum to a vacuum operating valve device from a linear solenoid type valve device driven whithin a predetermined frequency range in a diesel engine. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust gas recirculation control device 9 consiting of micro computers obtains the optimum exhaust gas recirculating amount by the signals of a load sensor 8, a revolving number sensor 7 and a water temperature sensor 20, drives the linear solenoid type vacuum control valve 10 through a D/A converter 17 and a driving circuit 18 and operates a vacuum operating EGR valve to control the amount of recirculation. The signal, driving the linear solenoid type vacuum control valve 10, is the signal having a frequency within the range of 40-100Hz and a duty ratio in accordance with the amount of recirculation. Thus the amount of EGR may be controlled precisely without generating hunting or the like and whereby the generation of poisonous exhaust gas constitutent may be restrained and the drivability of the engine may be secured.

    • PURPOSE:To effect negative pressure control in a high accuracy by a constitution wherein the vacuum is controlled in accordance with an equilibrium relation between a resilient force given to a spring diaphragm of which resilient force is changed by an electromagnetic device and a force given to the diaphragm by the vacuum. CONSTITUTION:When the vacuum in a diaphragm chamber 6 is small, a valve element 17 is seated to a valve seat 19 to shut off the communication betweeen the diaphragm chamber 6 and an atmosphere releasing chamber 7 and is separated from the tip end of a tubular member 10 to open a vacuum introducing port 11 into the diaphragm chamber 6. On the other hand, when the force given to a diaphragm 5 by a pressure difference is larger than the resilient force of the compression coil spring 30, or when the vacuum in the diaphragm chamber 6 is large, the diaphragm 5 is displaced upward deflecting the compression coil spring 30, the valve element 17 is abutted against the tip end of the tubular member 10 to close the vaccum introducing port 11 and also is separated from the valve seat 19 to bleed the vacuum.
