    • PURPOSE:To decrease the number of fixed tanks and fixed pipings and to facilitate increases in the amt. of production and grades by transferring and returning a truck for a movable tank on each station and performing independently a unit operation in the tank. CONSTITUTION:In a coating material manufacturing apparatus based on a movable tank system, a number of stations 100-109 wherein unit operations necessary for manufacturing coating material are gathered are placed on both sides of a carrier path 4 in order of the process. An automatically carrying truck 3 carrying a truck 2 for a movable tank where a tank 1 is placed travels automatically and successively to an aimed station, where the truck 2 for the movable tank is transferred on a trestle of the station by means of a transferring apparatus and pipings are connected between the movable tank and an installation on the fixed side and, if necessary, a stirrer is inserted in the tank 1 to conduct unit operation. While the truck 2 for the movable tank moves from one station to another station in the order to process, the coating material is manufactured. In addition, since a receiving device for sagging liq. is provided to the stirrer, there is no possibility of staining of the apparatus caused by liq. drops and since a movable cleaning truck for washing this stirrer is provided, the stirrer can be efficiently washed thereby.

    • The powders e.g. pigments, are treated with low temperature plasma so that chemical properties are improved. In the low temperature plasma treatment, if a plurality of powders coagulate into one lump, or if powders cohere on the vessel's inside wall surface, it is difficult to conduct a uniform and efficient treatment. The present invention provides powder treating methods and apparatus used therefor which makes possible a uniform and efficient treatment of powders with low temperature plasma. In a first embodiment there is a powder treating method characterized in that powders are treated with low temperature plasma while stirring them by vibration. The second embodiment is a powder treating apparatus, comprising a treating chamber for housing powders, said treating chamber being formed by an upper vessel and a lower vessel each having an opening mated to one another, a means for vibrating this treating chamber to stir said powders to form a fluidized layer and a plasma producing means, in which the powders in the treating chamber are treated under reduced pressure and with low temperature plasma while stirring them by vibration, and an insulator is provided at a junction between the upper and lower vessels so as to electrically insulate these upper and lower vessels, so that these two vessels may be utilized as mutually facing exciting electrode and grounding electrode. The third embodiment is a powder treating method characterized in that powders are treated with low temperature plasma while being stirred by a precessional movement of a spiral screw which is being rotated.
