    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily mount a breaking arrester for a joining pipe on a piping, suppress generation of cracking on the piping caused by external force by mounting the arresters on both sides of a pipe axial direction holding a circumference welding part of the piping, to prevent high speed ductile breaking generated in all regions in the axial direction of a steel pipe. SOLUTION: A pair of two ring shaped arresters 12 are arranged on an outer surface side on a pipe body 11 holding a circumference welding part M for connecting both pipe bodies 11. The arrester 12 is made of the same material in the case where the pipe body 11 is made of a steel pipe, for example, it is made of soft steel, high tension steel, or the like. In the arrester 12, an insert layer 12b may be arranged on the inner surface of the arrester main body 12a, and is made of thermoplastic resin. The thickness of the insert layer 12b is set according to a thickness and size of the pipe body 11, a gap between the inner surface of the arrester main body 12a and an outer surface of the pipe body 11 is filled by extrusion pressure of resin when the insert layer 12b is expanded by means of welding heat, and thereby, the arrester 12 is mounted on the pipe body 11.

    • PURPOSE:To avoid damage such as buckling in a main pipe by interposing a frictional-force reducing material layer between the main pipe and its outer sheath in a free state, and by bringing the outer sheath into contact with the surrounding ground, so that when the ground is liquefied, the frictional force can be reduced by the slip of the outer sheath to the main pipe. CONSTITUTION:An outer sheath 2 is applied to the main pipe 1 of a pipeline, and a frictional-force reducing material layer 3 continuously wound is interposed between the main pipe 1 and the outer sheath 2 in a free state. The outer sheath 2 is laid in such a state that it is brought into contact with the surrounding ground, and if a liquefaction layer 13 of the ground flows, the outer sheath 2 slips on the main pipe 1, and the frictional force due to the compression and tension of the ground in the axial direction of the pipe can be reduced. As a result, damage such as buckling and break due to the liquefaction of the ground can be sufficiently prevented, enabling significant reduction in the period and cost of construction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a steel pipe in which local buckling is hardly caused by compression and bending stress acted in the axial direction in case of a big earthquake and in the laying of a submarine pipe, and which is suitable for gas pipelines, water piping, the columns of civil engineering and construction or the like. SOLUTION: A steel sheet obtained by hot rolling steel having a composition containing, by mass%, 0.03 to 0.15% C, 0.05 to 0.5% Si and 1 to 2% Mn, and the balance substantially Fe, and in which PCM shown by the following formula (1) satisfies 0.10 to 0.20 is made into a steel pipe by cold or hot forming. After that, the steel pipe is reheated at 800 deg.C to 1,100 deg.C. Successively, the steel pipe is cooled at a cooling rate of >=5 deg.C/sec. In this way, the steel pipe in which the stress ratio (σr) as a ratio between the yield strength in the axial direction of the pipe and the stress in the case the nominal strain is 1.5% (σ1.5) is >=1.05, or the stress ratio (σr) as a ratio between the yield strength in the circumferential direction of the steel pipe and in the axial direction of the pipe and stress in the case the nominal strain is 1.5% (σ1.5) is >=1.05, and having excellent buckling resistance is produced: PCM=C+Si/30+Mn/20+Cu/20+Ni/60+Cr/20+Mo/15+V/10+5xB (1).

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mechanically join the end of a pipe by inserting the end of the pipe for a bell-and-spigot joint into the bell-and-spigot joint, in installation of a steel pipe to be buried underground. SOLUTION: An inside diameter contraction part 2a with the inside diameter gradually contracted toward and end face 1a is formed on a joint end part 2 of the joint body 1 of this bell-and-spigot joint A. A seal member 9 is joined with a stopper member 8 and a position keeping member 10, and these three members are connected to and integrated with each other. Sealability of the joint part can be ensured even when the compressive displacement or the tensile displacement in the axial direction of a pipe B for the bell-and-spigot joint having a covering layer 12 are generated in an outer surface of a main pipe 11.
