    • PURPOSE:To form a fiber reinforced composite member without the need for a die by forming a preforming body from a reinforced fiber, dipping it in a molten matrix after removing an air, removing the excess molten matrix and solidifying this molten matrix. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical perform 100 is formed from a reinforced fiber and after holding the preform 100 by a holding part 50 by opening a cover member 2 a pressure container 1 is sealed. The air among the fibers of the preform 100 is removed by reducing the pressure by a vacuum pump 12. At the same time, molten copper 10 is charged into the die 1, an upper punch 7 is lowered to impregnate the molten copper 10 into the formed body 6, and themolten copper 10 is solidified.
