    • PURPOSE:To provide a small-sized solenoid valve which has good responsiveness and can reduce the power consumption. CONSTITUTION:A needle element 36 of a solenoid valve 30 is energized by a compressive coil spring 37 in the direction of valve opening. A push rod 41 has one end contacted with the needle 36 and the other end with an armature 43. The armature 43 is formed in a disc from a magnetic substance, provided with a through hole 43a to admit insertion of a terminal 46, and extends outward in radial direction further from the through hole 43a. When current supply to a coil 44 is shut off, the needle 36 is energized in the direction of valve opening - when current is fed to the coil 44, the needle 36 is energized in the direction of valve closing. Because the armature 43 is free from restriction in formation due to the installing position of the terminal 46, it is possible to increase the area of armature in the radial direction, and the amount of flux passage generated by the coil 44 can be increased, so that a large attracting force will be produced.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a solenoid valve which is free from violent collision sound and severe damage of a valve seat surface when a valve face is seated onto a valve seat. CONSTITUTION:A solenoid valve is so constituted that, when energized, a valve face 5a provided for the tip end of a valve stem 5b is seated onto a valve seat 6a provided for the tip end of a main body 6 by the magnetic force of an electric magnet 2, and when deenergized, the valve face 5a is separated from the valve seat 6a by the elastic force of a return spring 1. Let a space between the valve face 5a and the valve seat 6a be B when energized, for example, the valve face 5a comes close to the valve seat 6a, and when the distance to the valve seat 6a is equal to (1/2 to 1/3)x B, in order to decrease the approaching speed of the valve face 5a to the valve seat 6a, a cylinder chamber 2c is provided for the electric magnet 2, and a damping piston 3 sliding within the cylinder chamber 2c is provided for the valve stem 5b.

    • PURPOSE:To effect high-speed operation in a control device for opening and closing a back pressure passage in a unit injector and thereby controlling an injection timing and an injection quantity, by providing a pressure receiving portion of a main valve of the control device and a control valve for controlling the pressure in a back pressure chamber of the main valve. CONSTITUTION:A unit injector includes a control device 23 integrally formed with a pressure cylinder for opening and closing a discharge passage 45 opened at its one end to a pressure chamber and thereby controlling an injection timing and an injection quantity. The control device 23 comprises a main valve 30 adapted to receive the pressure in the discharge passage 45 as a valve opening pressure, a back pressure chamber 52 for maintaining a valve closing pressure of the valve 30 and a control valve 24 for controlling the pressure in the back pressure chamber 52. A pressure receiving area of the main valve 30 under the closed condition on the back pressure chamber 52 side is set to be greater than that on the discharge passage 45 side, and a pressure receiving area of a valve member 31 of the control valve 24 under the closed condition on a fluid chamber 317 side is set to be greater than that on the back pressure chamber 52 side.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the fuel injection cut by increasing the stroke of a valve element when the valve is opened, in comparison with the ordinary case, without utilizing the pressure of the fuel which flows into a low pressure chamber from a high pressure chamber when the valve is opened. CONSTITUTION:As for a solenoid valve 32 which is constituted so that a spool 54 for opening and closing a fuel passage 34 is energized in the valve opening direction by the first spring 56, while in the valve closing direction, by the second spring 64, and the energizing force of the second spring 64 is regulated so that the opening degree in the ordinary case is set at the initial opening degree through the contact between an energizing force transmission member 66 and a projection 62a, a rod-shaped projection 74 is formed on the energizing force transmission member 66, and an accommodation hole 76 for accommodating the rod-shaped projection 74 in a slidable manner and an introducing hole 78 for introducing the fuel in the fuel passage 34 into the accommodation hole 76 are formed on the spool 54. Accordingly, when the valve is closed, the energizing force transmission member 66 is pushed up by the high pressure fuel in a pressure chamber 16, and the spool 54 is largely raised in comparison with the ordinary case, immediately after the valve opening.
