    • A position control device includes a fluid-operated directional control valve for controlling the position of the piston of a cylinder assembly under fluid pressure in response to a control signal from an electronic controller. The position of the piston is predicted based on the control signal. A position detector detects when the piston has actually reached a predetermined position. When it is detected that the piston has actually reached the predetermined position, the predicted position of the piston is corrected. The electronic controller applies a control signal to the directional control valve so that the predicted position as corrected will be equalized to a target position for the piston. The predetermined position is a substantially intermediate position of the stroke of the piston. The directional control valve comprises a solenoid-controlled valve for controlling the flow rate of the fluid depending on the magnitude of a current supplied to the solenoid-operated valve. The position of the piston is calculated based on the magnitude of the current and a period of time during which the current is supplied to the solenoid-operated valve. An automotive suspension system incorporating the position control device is also disclosed.

    • PURPOSE:To enable direct detection of the degree of inclination of a wobble plate, by arranging many magnetic detection sensors while facing with a magnet arranged at the end of a slider. CONSTITUTION:A through bolt 202 is arranged in parallel with a shaft 115 in a cover housing 125. A slider 203 in coupled slidably on the through bolt 202 and coupled rotatably with a rolling board 103. A magnet 204 is arranged at the end portion of the slider 203 such that the center line connecting between N and S poles of said magnet 204 is aligned with the reciprocating direction of the slider 203. Furthermore, many magnetic detection sensors 206 are arranged at an open position of the reciprocal section of the slider 203 such that they will face directly with the magnet 204 through a predetermined gap. Consequently, the magnet 204 moves as the slider 203 reciprocates, and the reciprocal movement of the slider 203 can be detected directly by judging whether said motion of the magnet 204 is detected through a magnetic detection sensor 206.
