摘要： PURPOSE:To manufacture an Nb3Al compound superconductive wire rod by processing a composite material consisting of an aluminium alloy containing Cu and niobium into a wire rod until the aluminium alloy attains a specific thickness followed by heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:Scores to several hundreds of pieces of round bars of composite materials 3 and 4 consisting of Nb1 and an Al alloy 2 are bundled to be fitted in a pipe made of oxygen free copper 5 or cypronickel 6, and the composite material of this multicore construction are processed into a lengthy wire shape by an extrusion process and a cold core process, etc. Further, these are cut to the appropriate length, and scores to several hundreds thereof are bundled for being again fitted in a pipe made of oxygen free copper 5 or of cypronickel 6 in order to be processed into a lengthy rod shape. A composite rod of multicore construction including thousands to tens of thousands of Al alloy cores is obtained, while being still further processed into a wire rod having several hundred thousand to several ten millions pieces of the Al alloy. Here, a dia meter of an Al alloy core in the final shape is less than 1mum. Further, the Al alloy shall contain 0.1-3wt.% of Cu.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a composite Nb3Sn superconductor having excellent characteristics in a method for forming a composite body consisting of Nb-base and tin-contg. copper-base alloys then treating under heating the same by adding Ta to the Nb-base alloy and Ti, Ga and Al to the copper-base alloy. CONSTITUTION:An Nb-base alloy contg. 0.1-20atom% Ta in Nb is used and an Nb-base alloy body and a copper-base alloy contg. 1-15atom% Sn, 0.1-5atom% Ti and respectively 0.1-10atom% Ga or Al in copper is used for a copper- base alloy body. From these alloys, a composite body is made, and the composite body is worked to a wire, tape, pipe or the like; thereafter, the composite body is subjected to a reaction heat treatment at 600-900 deg.C to form an Nb3Sn superconductive compd. at the boundary surfaces of the composite body. In this stage, the above-described additive elements solutionize into the Nb3Sn compd. layer and improve superconductive characteristics, more particularly, upper crictical magnetic fields. Since the additive elements except the Ga accelerate the forming speed of Nb3Sn, the Nb3Sn is formed thickly.

摘要： PURPOSE:To reduce a manufacturing cost by drawing a composite composed of Nb, Al, and Ag into a linear shape, followed by a heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:A composite composed of Nb, Al, and Ag is drawn into a linear shape, followed by a heat treatment. Otherwise, a composite composed of Nb and Ag is drawn into a linear shape and Al is stuck to the surface of the composite, followed by a heat treatment. Alternatively, a composite having a region of Al in the center of a region composed of Nb and Ag is drawn into a linear shape, followed by a heat treatment. In this way, if the composite composed of the three kinds of Ag, Al, and Nb (or an Nb alloy added with a small amount of Ag) is formed into an arbitrary shape, followed by a heat treatment, an Nb3Al compound can be composed in an arbitrary shape at a relatively low temperature in a short time. Consequently, a manufacturing cost can be reduced in this manufacturing method.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain Nb3Sn-diffused wire rods having high upper critical magnetic field HC2 and excellent in critical current density Jc as well as critical current Ic in a strong magnetic field, by incorporating a specific amount of Ti to either or both of a base wire or tape of Nb (alloy) and a Sn (alloy) molten bath. CONSTITUTION:In passing the pure Nb (alloy) base wire or tape through the bath of Sn (alloy) which is melted by heating to 600-1,200 deg.C, 0.1-30atomic% Ti is incorporated to either or both of the base wire or tape and the bath. The base wire or tape passed through the bath is subjected to heat treatment at 800-1,000 deg.C for about 1min-200hr to form a continuous Nb3Sn compound layer on the surface. Desirably, about 0.1-30% Pb or In is further added to the Sn bath simultaneously with the addition of the above Ti. In this way, the wire rod for superconducting magnets having >= about 17T generated magnetic field can be obtained.

Then, a diffusion heat treatment is carried out to form a Nb3Sn compound containing the group-IVa elements around the niobium base body 2. Thus, as a sufficient amount of tin can be supplied from the complex internal part by diffusion, a large amount of Nb3Sn compound phase can be obtained to form a wire rod having a large critical current capacity.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture Nb3 (Al, Ge) or Nb3 (Al, Si) very thin multiple core super conductive wire having high critical current density by adding Ge or Si to an Nb3Al very thin multiple core wire. SOLUTION: In this manufacturing method, a very thin multiple core structure composite wire is made by embedding tens to millions of composite core materials where Al-(2 to 3) at % Ge alloy with a thickness not more than 1 μm and a volume ratio of 1:2.5 to 1:3.5 is homogeneously composed into an Nb base material into a tube like matrix material made of Nb. A quick heating/ cooling processing where this composite wire is heated to 1700 deg.C or more in two seconds or less, and is lead into a molten metal near a heat chamber for cooling forms a A15 phase compound filament with a low crystal order degree in the composite wire. In this state, the composite wire is covered with Cu as a superconductivity stabilizing material. An additional heating process at 650 to 900 deg.C recovers the crystal order degree of the Nb3 (Al, Ge) which is a A15 phase compound.
