摘要： The present invention provides a printing medium, a printing method, and a printing apparatus using a photonic crystal characteristic. According to the present invention, the printing medium using the photonic crystal characteristic comprises a medium in which a plurality of particles having electric charges are distributed, wherein the intervals between the particles are controlled as a result of at least one of electric fields and magnetic fields are applied to the medium, and the intervals between the particles are fixed as the energy is applied to the medium.

摘要： This invention provides a method of creating caption-based search information for moving picture data of video titles recorded on a disk storage medium and performing search of moving picture data stream by using the caption-based video search information in a video disk reproduction apparatus like DVD player, and a reproduction apparatus using such method. The method according to this invention comprises the steps of creating and storing link information between caption data and moving picture stream which is reproduced concurrently with the caption data; displaying part of the caption data during playback; obtaining the location of moving picture data, which is linked to a particular caption data specified by a viewer, based on the created link information; and resuming reproduction of the video disk at the located moving picture data. Therefore, this invention enables rapid and exact search and reproduction of moving picture data linked to a chosen caption data without repetition of manual search.

摘要： PURPOSE: A printing medium, a printing method, and a printing apparatus using photonic crystal characteristics are provided to express full colors on t he printing medium without using an ink having pigment by controlling the wavelength of light which is reflected from the printing medium. CONSTITUTION: A printing medium(500) using photonic crystal characteristic includes a media(520) in which a plurality of particles having electric charges are dispersed. The interval of particles is controlled by applying electric field or magnetic field and energy to the media. The interval of particles is fixed by blocking the energy in the media. The media includes a material which is reversibly phase-changed or the material which is irreversibly hardened.

摘要： A display method using photonic crystal characteristics and a device thereof are provided to control an interval between particles by applying an electric field to particles, thereby controlling wavelength of light reflected from the particles. A display unit(310) comprises colloid particles having electric charges. Electric field providing units(322,324,326) generate an electric field applied to the display unit. An interval between the colloid particles is controlled by applying the electric field when the colloid particles having the electric charges are distributed. The intervals among the colloid particles are changed according to at least one change of strength or direction of the electric field. Wavelength of light reflected from the colloid particles are changed according to the change of the intervals.
