    • A display method using photonic crystal characteristics and a device thereof are provided to control an interval between particles by applying an electric field to particles, thereby controlling wavelength of light reflected from the particles. A display unit(310) comprises colloid particles having electric charges. Electric field providing units(322,324,326) generate an electric field applied to the display unit. An interval between the colloid particles is controlled by applying the electric field when the colloid particles having the electric charges are distributed. The intervals among the colloid particles are changed according to at least one change of strength or direction of the electric field. Wavelength of light reflected from the colloid particles are changed according to the change of the intervals.
