    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new propylene/1-butene/ethylene copolymer elastomer which is excellent in transparency, rigidity, heat-sealability and especially impact absorptivity and is suitable as a compounding agent for resins.
      SOLUTION: This propylene elastomer (1) contains (a) 50-85 mol% of units derived from propylene, (b) 5-40 mol% of units derived from 1-butene and (c) 10-40 mol% of units derived from ethylene where the amount of the units derived from 1-butene is larger than that of the units derived from ethylene, (2) has a limiting viscosity in decalin at 135 °C of 0.1-12 dl/g, (3) a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) measured by the gel permeation chromatography (GPC) of not more than 3, and (4) has a melting point measured with a differential scanning calorimeter in the range of 25-85 °C. This elastomer can be prepared using a catalyst containing a metallocene compound.
