    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent flow passages among vanes from being clogged with foreign substances without causing a disturbance of swirling flow.SOLUTION: A fixed swirler 10 comprises a cylindrical tube portion 11 and a plurality of vanes 12 that protrudes inward in a radial direction from an inner wall surface 11A of the cylindrical tube portion 11. Inter-vane flow passages 13 are provided among the plurality of vanes 12 adjacent to one another. Further, the fixed swirler 10 is configured such that each of interval dimensions among the vanes 12 adjacent to one another becomes a maximum value at each position corresponding to the inner wall surface 11A of the cylindrical tube portion 11 and becomes smaller than the maximum value at each position inwardly spaced apart from the inner wall surface 11A in the radial direction. On account of this, foreign substances can be smoothly discharged downstream from among respective vanes 12 by utilizing movement of the foreign substances reaching the vanes 12 from an upstream side to positions of the inner wall surface 11A by centrifugal force and clogging with the foreign substances can be prevented.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cyclone separator reduced in noise.SOLUTION: A cyclone separator is provided with an inflow pipe 11 into which dust-containing air is flown. The inflow pipe 11 is connected to the upper part of a swirl chamber 12. The swirl chamber 12 swirls the dust-containing air to centrifuge the air to separate dust from air. On a sidewall of the swirl chamber 12, a first side opening part 13a and a second side opening part 13b are formed. The swirl chamber 12 communicates to a first side dust-collecting chamber 14a and a second side dust-collecting chamber 14b via the first side opening part 13a and the second side opening part 13b. The first side dust-collecting chamber 14a and the second side dust-collecting chamber 14b are formed so as to cover the outer periphery of the swirl chamber 12 when seen from the swirl axis direction of the dust-containing air. Centrifugally separated dust is collected in the first side dust-collecting chamber 14a and the second side dust-collecting chamber 14b. A discharge pipe 18 discharging the air separated from the dust-containing air is connected to the swirl chamber 12.
