    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting device having a high luminous efficiency at a low cost.SOLUTION: A light-emitting device includes a light-emitting element 3 which emits light from the upper surface, and a plurality of protrusions 5 formed on the bottom face of the light-emitting element 3. The light-emitting device is provided with the protrusions 5 for keeping a constant clearance between the light-emitting element 3 and a substrate 1 on the light-emitting element side. The protrusions 5 are produced by applying a metal paste material having a high thermal conductivity such as sintered silver or nano-paste, in an arbitrary shape of arbitrary height and then calcining. Since the position of the protrusions 5 that support the light-emitting element 3 is fixed, it is always possible to assure a stable mounting without being influenced by the accuracy of the mounting position of the light-emitting element 3. As a result, higher optical performance and heat dissipation performance can be obtained.
