    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drift tube linear accelerator at a low cost, which accelerates charged particles more efficiently.
      SOLUTION: In the drift tube linear accelerator, a plurality of cylindrical drift tubes 3 are arranged along a beam acceleration axis inside a resonance cavity, with the drift tubes 3 being held inside the resonance cavity through stems 4. The electric field generated among the drift tubes 3 is utilized to accelerate charged particles for converging accelerated beams. The drift tube 3 includes one part 3b and the other part 3a in split shapes. One part 3b in split shape and the stem 4 are integrally machined. By joining split surfaces 10 of one part 3b and the other part 3a together, a junction body 9 is formed.
