    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content authentication system capable of reading out unique information stored in a storage medium without installing a new device.SOLUTION: A content authentication system comprises an authoring device 1 and a distribution server 4. The authoring device 1 comprises: a digital content creation unit 13 for creating image data and content data to store the image data in a storage medium 3 and output the content data to the distribution server 4; a unique information generation unit 14 for generating unique information from information uniquely held by the image data created by the digital content creation unit 13; and a unique information output unit 15 for outputting the unique information generated by the unique information generation unit 14 to the storage medium 3 and the distribution server 4. The distribution server 4 comprises: a data storage unit 41 for storing the unique information output by the unique information output unit 15 in association with the content data created by the digital content creation unit 13; and a unique information collation unit 42 for collating the unique information stored in the storage medium 3 with the unique information stored in the data storage unit 41. The distribution server 4 distributes the content data by authenticating use of the storage medium 3 storing the image data.
