      SOLUTION: This connector for a cable has a housing for electrically connecting the cable to an electric apparatus. In the connector for a cable, the housing is provided with a connection means to the electronic apparatus, and a shell 12 for connecting the connection means to the cable; the shell has a metallic base part used as a base for forming its own structure, and a nickel-plated layer and a silver-plated layer sequentially formed on a surface of the base part; each layer thickness of the nickel-plated layer and the silver-plated layer is above 5 μm; and surface roughness of the silver-plated layer is 6.3s or less by the maximum height (Rz).
