The advertisement-generation system includes: at least one feature-selection guideline that specifies at least one recommended feature for image-containing advertisements based on advertiser inputs that specify at least one of advertisement-target-audience information, cost information, and advertiser-industry information; an image-clip library from which images are selected for inclusion in the image-containing advertisements; and at least one advertisement template that is based on the at least one feature-selection guideline. The system automatically generates image-containing advertisements that contain one or more suggested colors that are automatically suggested based on one or more colors present on a web page that will host the image-containing advertisement.

SOLUTION: An formula is defined by a grading system for an attribute of each type of object. The formulas define attribute values and are based on relations between the attributes and attributes correlating to objects of the same type and objects of different type. The attribute values are repeatedly computed by using the formulas in the grading system until the attribute values converge on solution. Then, the object is graded based on the attribute values by means of the grading system.

SOLUTION: In an embodiment, a similarity system defines, for each object type, similarity functions among the insides of the type and similarity functions among the types. The similarity system combines similarity functions among the insides of certain types with those among the types to make them the whole similarity function for the type. After the similarity functions are defined, the similarity system collects the attribute values of the objects. The attribute values can include relation data between the objects of the same type (which is called an intra-type relation) and a relation between the objects of different type (which is called an inter-type relation). After the attribute values of the objects are collected, the similarity system solves the similarity functions of the intra-type and inter-type by repeatedly computing the similarity of the objects until the similarity converges on solution.
