    • A method and apparatus for analyzing patterns in semiconductor wafers wherein the patterns are compared to a plurality of patterns stored in a common pattern library. A spatial pattern recognition engine is operable to receive a first set of data corresponding to a pattern on a semiconductor wafer and to generate a normalized contour representation of said first data set. A pattern analyzer compares the normalized data set to a plurality of reference contour data sets stored in a common pattern data reference library and generates a correlation label associating the first data set with one of the plurality of reference contour data sets. The label associated with the first data set is stored in a label storage database that can be accessed to perform subsequent analysis on the data associated with a specific wafer. The system can be used to analyze multiple types of patterns, including defect data, bin data, positional parameter data and in-line site data.

    • Disclosed is a circuit for biasing FETs which limits unwanted gate current. A first resistor (R.sub.8) is coupled in series with the gate and the output (14) of a differential amplifier (12). Means such as a second resistor (R.sub.9) and a Zener diode (D.sub.2) are coupled to the first resistor and one input of the differential amplifier. Means such as a third resistor (R.sub.3) is also coupled to one input of the amplifier. When excessive gate current appears, the voltage across the first resistor is such as to cause sufficient current flow through the diode and second and third resistors to unbalance the amplifier. This keeps the gate-to-source voltage of the FET at a region of gate current below some maximum value.

    • A power feed system for a rotary drill includes a hollow tubular derrick having a powerhead connected to a flexible cable moved by a double rod hydraulic cylinder assembly. The derrick includes fixed and movable sheaving assemblies. The hydraulic rod assembly, the fixed and movable assemblies operate substantially within the derrick interior. A guide wheel on the movable sheaving contacts the derrick to maintain axial alignment of the hydraulic rods. Pivotable connections between the cable and the movable sheaves automatically adjust for cable fleet angle change, as the movable sheaves travel, maintaining axial alignment of the hydraulic rods and avoiding introducing torque into the cylinder rods.

    • In a method for producing a semiconductor device using a logic simulation approach, a circuit model for a user-specified design of a multi-peak resonant tunneling diode-based electronic circuit is provided and includes a plurality of circuit devices. One of the circuit devices is a multi-peak resonant tunneling diode which is modeled by a parasitic resistance in series with parallel combination of a voltage-controlled current source and an intrinsic capacitance. The voltage-controlled current source has an equivalent circuit model with a function stage for realizing current-voltage characteristic curve of the resonant tunneling diode. The function stage includes parallel combination of at least one first circuit branch, at least one second circuit branch and a third circuit branch. Each of the first and second circuit branches has a resistor, a diode and a voltage source. The third circuit branch has a resistor and a voltage source. The first and third circuit branches represent positive resistance sections, and the second and third circuit branches represent negative resistance sections of the current-voltage characteristic curve.
