    • An encapsulated plastic glazing window module for a motor vehicle has a glazing assembly formed from a transparent plastic glazing substrate and a frit film positioned on at least a portion of the glazing substrate, an encapsulation frame encapsulating the glazing assembly and attachment means such as mounting studs and/or adhesives for securing the glazing assembly to the motor vehicle. In certain preferred embodiments the transparent plastic substrate is a polycarbonate, and the frit film is a semi-rigid sheet having a transparent polycarbonate carrier web with a non-transparent ink or dye. In certain embodiments the frit film is positioned on an interior side of the plastic substrate and the non-transparent portion covers the attachment means from exterior view. An abrasion resistant coating or hardcoat such as an organically modified ceramic is preferably to each surface of the glazing assembly, preferably by dip coating. The encapsulation material is preferably a PVC or similar thermoplastic. In certain preferred embodiments a peripheral integrity insert is insert molded around a peripheral edge of the glazing assembly, facilitating embedding mounting studs in the encapsulation frame. In certain preferred embodiments the plastic substrate has a series of radially extending projections and a perimeter ring defining a series of vents and the encapsulation material forms a mechanical bond with the plastic substrate. The encapsulated plastic glazing window modules may optionally be positioned flush with an exterior surface of the motor vehicle.

    • A plastic glazing window module has a glazing assembly formed from a transparent plastic glazing substrate and a frit film positioned on at least a portion of the glazing substrate.     • An improved vacuum motor for actuating heat, ventilating and air conditioning control systems (HVAC), which uses a conical spiral spring and a bonded connection between the housing and cap to reduce weight, size, cost and noise. The motor includes a bellows which forms an airtight compartment inside the motor housing with the cap and a plunger connected to the bellows. The conical spring biases the bellows to a fully expanded position. A negative pressure or vacuum in the air line connected to the housing causes the bellows to collapse and compress the spring. As the bellows collapses, the attached plunger is pulled axially into the motor housing. The movement of the plunger actuates the connected HVAC device.

    • An infinitely adjustable seat track assembly is provided with a lower track assembly and an upper track assembly releasably slidable on the lower track assembly. The lower track assembly comprises at least one lower track, and a wrap spring wrapped around a rod and aligned with the lower track. The upper track assembly has at least one upper track which can slide in forward and rearward directions over the lower track. A lever is mounted on the upper track assembly. The lever is pivotable from a latching position where the wrap spring wraps tightly around the rod, to an unlatching position where the lever urges the wrap spring to partially unwrap around the rod, thereby permitting the wrap spring to slide along the rod. An engagement mechanism operatively engages the wrap spring so that when the lever is in the latching position the upper track is secured to the lower track, and when the lever is in the unlatching position the wrap spring travels with the upper track over the rod in response to the upper track sliding over the lower track. Preferably the rod is secured to the lower track and the wrap spring is free of the upper and lower tracks. An easy entry feature can be attached to the lever so that dumping a seat back to a full down position moves the lever to the unlatching position, allowing the upper track or track to be slid to a full forward position.

    • A cable regulator assembly for controlling the vertical travel of a windowpane in the window opening of a motor vehicle has a cable support structure comprising first and second guide rail members extending vertically from laterally-spaced attachment to a lateral bridging member. The lateral bridging member, first guide rail member and second guide rail member cooperatively form an integral, rigid U-shaped structure. A regulator cable is mounted by suitable cable guide means for driven travel in a U-shaped travel path along the cable support structure. First and second gliders are attached to the regulator cable for cable-driven vertical travel along guide rails formed by the guide rail members. The gliders provide mounting means for attachment to the windowpane. The U-shaped cable support structure and corresponding U-shaped travel path of the regulator cable leave the center area of a door cavity advantageously clear of regulator assembly components. In addition, the rigid, integrated cable support structure provides excellent parallelism between the guide rails for improved regulator assembly performance characteristics, and optional rigid attachment of the windowpane to both gliders. The regulator cable is advantageously protected by the rigid lateral member bridging between the two guide rails.
