SOLUTION: This method of forming a laminated coat comprises a process to apply an intercoat coating material composition, a base coating material composition and a clear coating material composition, in that order, onto the surface of a base material with an electrodeposition coat, and a process to bake and cure the applied three layers all at once. This method is characteristic in that the curing temperature of a clear coating material is high.

SOLUTION: A method of forming the laminated coating film includes: a process of successively applying an aqueous base coating composition and a clear coating composition, in a wet-on-wet manner, onto a substrate with the electrodeposited coating film formed thereon; and a process of baking the two coated unhardened coating films simultaneously to harden. The aqueous base coating composition comprises an acrylic resin emulsion (α), a polyether polyol (β), an active methylene type block polyisocyanate (γ), and a talc pigment (δ). 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively inhibit, under a simple construction, the undermining of a presentable outlook which is attributable to the deposition of coating material dust adhering to the coating of an inner plate surface, when a coating material is applied to the outer plate surface of an automotive body.
SOLUTION: This method of coating the automotive body comprises a first coat forming process K1 to form a first coat 5 for developing an outlook coating color by applying a first coating material to the inner plate surface of an automotive body where an undercoat 4 is formed, a second coat forming process K2 to form a second coat 6 with undercoat concealability by applying a second coating material to the outer plate surface 2 of the automotive body, and a third coat forming process K3 to form a third coat 7 which has lower undercoat concealability than the second coat 6, and develops, alone or together with the second coat 6, an outlook coating color of the same kind as or an approximate kind to the first coat 5, through the procedures to apply a third coating material over the second coat 6 after the formation of the latter 6. Besides, in the second coat forming process, the second coating material is applied to the outer plate surface, while preventing the second coating material from wrapping around to the inner plate surface side. Also, the device using this method is provided.
