      SOLUTION: This method of coating the automotive body comprises a first coat forming process K1 to form a first coat 5 which develops an outlook coating color, by applying a first coating material to an inner plate surface 3 of an automotive body 1, a second coat forming process K2 to form a second coat 6 with undercoat concealability by applying a second coating material to an outer plate surface 2, and a third coat forming process K3 to form a third coat 7 which develops, alone or together with the second coat 6, an outlook coating color of the same kind as or an approximate kind to the first coat 5 and has lower undercoat concealability than the second coat 6, through the procedures to apply a third coating material to the surface of the second coat 6 after the formation of the latter 6. Besides, in the third coat forming process K3, the behavior of the third coating material to wrap around to the inner plate surface 3 side of the automotive body, when applying the third coating material to the outer plate surface 2, is promoted. Also, the device using this method is provided.
