SOLUTION: The setup input device is provided with: a stepless input means 1 for continuous operation input of a variable resistor or the like; a step value conversion means 3 for converting the continuous input of the stepless input means to a stepwise setup output value, a reporting means 7 for emitting sound; and a control means 6 for commanding the reporting means 7 to report according to the output of the step value conversion means 3. The control means 6 issues the command to repeat prescribed reporting for the number of steps wherein the stepwise setup output value is changed by the step value conversion means 3 to the reporting means 7.
