    • A switch assembly for use in a vehicle including a body carrying a turn indicator switch and a dimmer and passing switch, a rotatable member rotatably mounted on the body for actuating the turn indicator switch, and a bifurcated lever having first and second arms. The first arm is pivotally connected to the rotatable member for pivotal movement of the lever in a direction perpendicular to the direction of rotation of the rotatable member and the second arm is provided in association with the dimmer and passing switch so that rotation of the lever together with the rotatable member controls the turn indicator switch and the pivotal movement of the lever controls the dimmer and passing switch. A plurality of vertical and horizontal notches are formed in a face between the first and second arms for the engagement with a pin mounted in the body to hold the lever in the pivoted and rotated positions.

    • In a column mounted switching device mounted on a steering column of a vehicle, a revolution member is supported on a base plate rotatably about a first revolution axis in a first direction, an operation lever is supported on the revolution member rotatably about a second revolution axis directed at a substantially right angle to the first revolution axis, and first switch means is mounted on the base plate such that it is operated in a direction parallel to the second revolution axis by the operation lever through the revolution member. Accordingly, a distance between the first revolution axis and an operation portion of the first switch means is kept sufficiently long so that the first switch means can be operated reliably.

    • A tapping method for performing a tapping process in a punch press includes engaging a front end of a tap provided at a tapping tool attached to a rotating mold indexing device rotatably provided at the punch press with a prepared hole formed in a workpiece. When the front end of the tap is engaged with the prepared hole, a control motor of the rotating mold indexing device is rotated positively to rotate the tap positively. When it is detected that the control motor of the rotating mold indexing device has rotated a determined number of times, positive rotation of the control motor is stopped and the motor is rotated reversely, thereby to detach the tap from the prepared hole of the workpiece.

    • A tapping method includes engaging a front end of a tap with a prepared hole formed in a workpiece. The tap is provided at a tapping tool attached to a rotating mold indexing device that includes a control motor M. The rotating mold indexing device is rotatably provided at a punch press. The tapping method also includes rotating the control motor M positively to rotate the tap positively when the front end of the tap is engaged with the prepared hole. The tapping method also includes stopping positive rotation of the control motor M and rotating the motor reversely, thereby to detach the tap from the prepared hole of the workpiece, when it is detected that the control motor M has rotated a determined number of times or that a predetermined time has elapsed.
