摘要： A turbogenerator is controlled by a temperature loop that provides fuel to the combustor to maintain a desired turbine exhaust temperature, and by a speed control loop that controls the speed of the turbogenerator to provide a desired power output. When the desired power output is reduced, the turbogenerator speed is reduced accordingly, and the desired turbine exhaust temperature is increased temporarily to maintain sufficient fuel flow to the combustor to prevent combustor flame-out.

摘要： A power controller provides a distributed generation power networking system in which bi-directional power converters are used with a common DC bus for permitting compatibility between various energy components. Each power converter operates essentially as a customized bi-directional switching converter configured, under the control of the power controller, to provide an interface for a specific energy component to the DC bus. The power controller controls the way in which each energy component, at any moment, will sink or source power, and the manner in which the DC bus is regulated. In this way, various energy components can be used to supply, store and/or use power in an efficient manner. The various energy components include energy sources, loads, storage devices and combinations thereof.

In one embodiment, the power generation system includes a fuel source to provide fuel, a turbogenerator, coupled to the fuel source, to generate AC power, and a power controller electrically coupled to the turbogenerator. The power controller includes a first power converter to convert the AC power to DC power on a DC bus, and a second power converter to convert the DC power on the DC bus to an output power to supply a load. The power controller to regulate the fuel to the turbogenerator, independent of a DC voltage on the DC bus. A capacitor, such as an electrochemical capacitor or a hybrid capacitor, is coupled to the DC bus to source instantaneous power to and sink instantaneous power from the DC bus, due to load changes, to stabilize the DC voltage on the DC bus.

摘要： A turbogenerator/motor controller with a microprocessor based inverter having multiple modes of operation with an energy storage and discharge system including an ancillary electric storage device, such as a battery, connected to the generator controller through control electronics. Electrical energy can flow from the ancillary electric storage device to the turbogenerator controller during start up and increasing load and vice versa during self-sustained operation of the turbogenerator. When utility power is unavailable, the ancillary electric storage device can provide the power required to start the turbogenerator. When a load transient occurs, the gas turbine engine and the ancillary electric storage device provide the power required to successfully meet the transient.
