    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sander capable of restricting the vibration which occurs in a body.SOLUTION: An orbital sander 1 includes a base 3, which is horizontally and repetitively vibrated by the rotation of a motor and which includes a sanding paper 26, under a body 2 including the motor M, and polishes a polished material by pressing the sanding paper to the polished material. A suppressing means is provided so as to suppress transmission of the horizontally repetitive vibratory motion to the body. The suppressing means is structured of a tensioning member which energizes the body and the base into a direction wherein both the body and the base come close to each other. The tensioning member extends in the vertical direction, passing through both of the body and the base, and includes: a foot 31 including fall-out preventing members 33 and 33 for preventing a fall-out of the body and the base in both ends thereof; and O-rings 32 respectively interposed between one of the fall-out preventing members and the body and between the other of the fall-out preventing members and the base.

The balancer 29 is coupled to the eccentric shaft 7A at a position above the ball bearing 15, and the balancer 29 projects downward such that the lower end of an outer member 32 is positioned between the center of the ball bearing 15 and the lower surface of the base 5 in the up-down direction.
