    • The invention relates to a method for machining a metal component, particularly a component of a gas turbine, by machining the component with the help of a pulsed electrochemical removal process, the component having a preliminary contour that is to be finished and has different overmeasures. Said method is characterized by the following steps: a) the different overmeasures of the preliminary contour are determined; and b) the component is simultaneously machined on both sides by simultaneously advancing at least one respective electrode that is arranged on different sides of the component, the advancing speed of the electrode being greater in the area of the larger overmeasure of the preliminary contour than the advancing speed of the electrode in the area of the smaller overmeasure of the preliminary contour.
