    • An image forming material and an image forming method which are capable of accommodating a direct laser drawing method, producing an image of a high resolution easily and performing an image forming operation easily in a bright room, lithographic printing plate manufacturing method and apparatus, a lithographic printing plate making method, and a printed wiring board manufacturing method are provided. Concretely speaking, an image forming material having a layer of thermally meltable fine particles on a base material, and a method of forming an image on a base material by melt-fixing the portion of a layer of the thermally meltable fine particles of the image forming material which corresponds to an image portion, and then removing the portion of the layer of thermally meltable fine paticles which corresponds to a non-image portion are provided. The layer of thermally meltable fine particles can be melt-fixed by a laser. The removing of the non-image portion of the layer of thermally meltable fine particles can be done more easily by providing a layer of an alkali-soluble resin between the base material and the layer of thermally meltable fine particles, and applying an alkali solution to this layer of an alkali-soluble resin.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the adhesion of materials even at the time of including an image forming layer having low adhesiveness and a non-photosensitive resist layer in the material by providing an intermediate layer as the undercoat layer of the non-photosensitive resist layer between them. CONSTITUTION:This material is formed by laminating a non-photosensitive resist layer and a photosensitive silver halide gelatin emulsion layer in that order on an image forming layer of the substrate which has an image forming layer(s) on its one side or both sides. At this time, an intermediate layer is interposed between the image forming layer and the non-photosensitive resist layer. As the resin used for the intermediate layer, polyvinyl alcohol is most desirable. Various kinds of polyvinyl alcohol are used as this polyvinyl alcohol depending on their molecular weight, degrees of saponification, etc. The suitable kinds of polyvinyl alcohol, alone or as a mixture of at least two kinds selected from among them, can be used for this purpose. Examples of this polyvinyl alcohol are PVA-117, PVA-217, etc. At the time of forming the intermediate layer, optionally, a surfactant, etc., are mixed into the coating fluid to uniformly coat the substrate.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a uniform and excellent image on both surfaces of a body to be developed provided with a photoconductive layer on both surfaces of a supporting body by forming an electrostatic latent image on the surface of the body to be developed provided with the photoconductive layer on both surfaces of the supporting body by an electrophotographic method and developing it by liquid by almost vertically holding the body to be developed while liquid developer is supplied from both sides. SOLUTION: This device is constituted of a liquid developing part 1, a drying part and a thermal fixing part. The body to be developed 5 provided with the photoconductive layer on both surf aces of the supporting body and obtained by forming a latent image on both photoconductive layer-surfaces is carried in the developing electrode part 3 of the liquid developing device by a carrying roll pair 21 and developed by the liquid at the electrode part 3. Thereafter, it is carried out to the drying part and the thermal fixing part by a liquid squeezing roll pair 22. After the body to be developed 5 is developed by the liquid at the developing part 1, the evaporation of media scattered in the liquid developer left on both photoconductive layer- surfaces is eliminated at the drying part and toner grains are thermally fixed on the photoconductive layer at the thermal fixing part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ink jet recording medium, which has a high gloss and an enough ink absorbency equal to those of a photographic paper employed to a silver salt photography even under small coating amount and, further, suppresses the development of cockling (corrugation in a printing part) and is excellent in the reproducibility of image quality.
SOLUTION: In the ink jet recording medium manufactured by applying a cast processing onto an underlayer and an upper layer at least provided on a gas permeable support, the support is mainly made of wood pulp and a filler under the condition that the content of the filler in the support is 5-30 mass%, the underlayer is made of a coating composition including a water absorbing inorganic pigment, a latex and boric acid or its salt and, at the same time, the upper layer is made of a coating composition including a submicron pigment and polyvinyl alcohol.
