    • PURPOSE:To obtain a lightweight and high strength vibration damping material having enough vibration damping property by providing a honeycomb structure wherein a Zn-Al base alloy partition plate divides the interval made by opposedly parting Zn-Al base alloy plates into a plurality of spaces. CONSTITUTION:The vibration damping material 1 is a rectangular plate and consists of a Zn-Al base alloy partition plate arranged between Zn-Al base alloy plates 2 and 2, which are vertically and opposedly parted from each other, so as to divide the interval made between the plates 2 and 2 into a plurality of spaces. The partition plate 3 is produced by inserting a thin rectangular sheet between preheated molds so as to press it into a corrugated form in order to join it to the plates 2 and 2 by epoxy-based resin at portions 4. Thus, since the vibration damping material concerned has a honeycomb structure consisting of the partition plate 3, which divides the interval made by opposedly parting the plates 2 and 2 into a plurality of spaces and, in addition, the plates 2 and the partition plate 3 are made of Zn-Al base alloy, which is excellent in vibration absorbing property, the material concerned can be light in weight and have high strength and further have improved vibration damping property.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the production efficiency by inserting wire rods into through holes of a plurality of material supporters provided in the shape of a honeycomb and extruding them at a specified straining rate through desired extruding bars. CONSTITUTION:In a container element 16, the axial section shows a regular hexagon and a through hole 18 which opens on the upper and lower end faces is formed in the central part along the axial line. When a heating element 14 is heated by a high frequency heating coil, the container element 16 is heated by the radiation heat from the element 14, the conductive heat from a container holder 17 and the heat conduction between the elements 16 uniformly into a hot processing temperature. The wire rods is inserted into the through hole 18 of the container element 16 fitted in the shape of a honeycomb, held at the hot processing temperature and extruded by a die and an extruding rod fitted at both ends of the through hole 18 at a straining rate 0.01-0.1/sec. In this manner, a plurality of wire rods can be extruded simultaneously to upgrade a production efficiency.
