    • PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of the strength of a roll supporting shaft for a rolling mill by a method wherein lubricating oil is supplied from one end of a double hollow part provided at the central part of the roll supporting shaft and is circulated in a bearing while it is discharged from the other end of the hollow part. CONSTITUTION:A lubricating oil outflow preventing cover 8 is attached to both ends of an outer shaft 7 and the central part of a fixed shaft 4 is made hollow. Other hollow tube 10 is inserted into the hollow part 9 and is fixed thereto so as to form the double hollow configuration having a uniform section with respect to the axial center thereof. The hollow part 9 of the fixed shaft side is utilized for an oil path as an outer hole while the same of the hollow tube 10 is utilized for the oil path as an inner hole respectively, therefore, the section of the roll supporting shaft becomes uniform and the deterioration of the strength thereof may be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To make the surface condition of the front and back sides of the strip uniform, and to accomplish a high draft percentage, at carryin gout the rolling work with a couple of work rolls rotating with differential circumferential velocities, by forcing the strip so as to make its surface incline to the side of work roll rotating at lower circumferential velocity against the plane including axes of two work rolls. CONSTITUTION:The strip S is rolled by a four-high rolling mill comprising the work rolls 1, 2 and the backup rolls 3, 4; hereupon, the upper work roll 1 and the lower work roll 2 are made in the same diameter, and the circumferential velocity of the upper work roll 1 is made slower than that of the lower work roll 2. Hereby, the strip S is bent to the side of the upper work roll 1 of slower velocity on the feed-in side of the rolling mill, that is, the strip surface is inclined to the side of the slower upper work roll 1 against the plane including the axes of two work rolls 1, 2; under this condition, the strip S is fed into the gap of work rolls 1, 2. For the purpose of binding the strip S, a deflector roll 7 is vertically shifted by a lifter 8.
