    • PURPOSE: To improve shifting control performance and shifted position holding performance by a structure wherein intermediate cylinders are arranged in the hydraulic cylinder circuit for driving working equipment or the like and holding it in the shifted position in order to employ high viscous working fluid as working oil in hydraulic cylinder side.
      CONSTITUTION: In case of rolling mill having a pair of upper and lower rolls 109 and 110, the intermediate cylinders 101 are separately interposed in pipings between control valves 104 and both right and left chambers of the hydraulic cylinders 103, which shift the respective rolls 109 and 110 axially and hold them in the shifted positions. And yet, the fluid such as grease or the like, the viscosity of which is higher than that of the working oil in hydraulic pump 105 side, is employed as the working oil in the pipings between the hydraulic cylinders 103 and the intermediate cylinders 101. Furthermore, pilot check valves 102 are arranged at the entry ports in the head side and rod side of the hydraulic cylinders 103 respectively. The respective control valves 104 are controlled by a control device 113 based upon the deviation between the outputs of position sensors 108 and set signals 112.
