摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an SiC coating layer in an oxidation resistant treatment of a carbonaceous raw material, suitable for treating a large-sized mass production product, excellent in adhesion property of an Si source with the raw material under a heat treatment, and not generating a blister and a distortion at the surface of the raw material. SOLUTION: This method of an oxidation resistant treatment of a carbonaceous raw material is to react carbon on the surface of the carbonaceous raw material with silicon for converting the composition of the surface of the carbonaceous raw material to silicon carbide (SiC). In this case, as a source 11 (Si source) for supplying Si necessary for the reaction, a powder of a material containing silicon added with a powder of a ceramic material and further added with a thermosetting resin 12, is used. Also, characteristics of the process are: using a method of applying the powder instead of using a crucible treatment and using a raw material powder consisting of an oxide as a powder of the ceramic material and a powder of silicon nitride (Si3 N4 ) as the Si source.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a carbon material joined body having high joining strength which hardly causes thermal peeling by inserting specified two kinds of adhesives between carbonaceous base bodies, heating, pressing and carbonizing. CONSTITUTION:A mixture (adhesive A) is prepared by mixing a polymer (e.g. polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl acetate) which melts into a pitch state to produce carbon in a heating process and a carbonaceous material (e.g. cake, graphite, carbon black). Another mixture (adhesive B) is prepared by mixing a polymer (e.g. furan resin, phenol resin) which does not melt into a pitch-like state but produces carbon in a heating process and a carbonaceous material (same as above described). The adhesive A, adhesive B, and adhesive A are interposed in this order between carbonaceous base bodies. Then the joined body is heated at temp. higher than the melting temp. of the polymer included in the adhesive A, pressed and further carbonized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the oxidation resistance of the subject carbonaceous material and the peel resistance of a coating layer by successively forming a carbide layer consisting essentially of SiC, a thin-film layer such as TiC and a thin-film layer such as a platinum group element on the surface of the carbonaceous substrate. CONSTITUTION:The subject carbonaceous material is obtained by successively forming and growing a carbide layer 2 consisting essentially of SiC, a thin-film layer 3 such as TiC and a thin-film layer 4 such as a platinum group element on the surface of a carbonaceous substrate 1. VC or NbC is used in addition to the TiC in the thin-film layer 3. Ir, Ru or Ru is used as the platinum group element. Thereby, the thermal stress is prevented from concentrating due to the difference in thermal expansion coefficient between the coating layer and the base material. As a result, a hardly peelable interface is obtained. Even if the coating layer of the platinum group element is damaged, the carbonaceous substrate 1 which is the base material is prevented from burning by the antioxidizing function of the SiC.

CONSTITUTION:The surface of a bearing material 1 of an Al alloy such as Al-Mg-Si is coated with a powdery mixture 2 well kneaded with a solvent. The mixture 2 consists of powder of the Al alloy and ceramic fibers such as SiC whiskers. The coated surface is then irradiated with laser beams 3 such as CO2 laser beams to form a surface layer 6 of a ceramic fiber reinforced Al alloy. A bearing material having extremely superior hardness, heat and wear resistances can be obtd.

Since the liquid-quickly-cooling method permits a direct formation from molten metal, it can make a thin plate from hard and brittle Co group alloy and the crystallized particles of the alloy are refined by the quick cooling and condensation for obtaining a high degree of hardness. Therefore, a corrosion resisting property and an erosion resisting property of the turbine blade is improved and a blade life is greatly increased.

Thus, the effect of heat on the base material 1 during surface treatment is inhibited and reduction in the strength of the base material 1 by thermal deformation is prevented.

The welded or brazed parts at both ends are thereafter removed by machining and the intended casting mold is obtd. The casting mold may be also formed by reducing further the thickness thereof by extruding, drawing, etc. then machining both ends.
