The measuring optical system 5 further comprises an interval detecting section for detecting intervals at a plurality of points by extracting the profiles of two supporting boards constituting the collector shoe 11 from image signals received from the image receiving camera 52, a memory prestored with a reference interval between two supporting boards, and an image processing section 7 for comparing a plurality of detected interval data with the reference value and producing a pass signal if the difference is lower than a predetermined value otherwise producing a fail signal, which are disposed at appropriate positions in the tram depot.

摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a measuring apparatus capable of measuring an oil level of an oil level sensor of an axle box efficiently in a considerably short time while a vehicle is running. CONSTITUTION:This measuring apparatus is set at a position where an oil level sensor of an axle box of a running vehicle is photographed. The apparatus is provided with an image pick up device 1, a binarizing means and an oil level-detecting means. In the image pick up device 1, when a vehicle detector 3 detects the vehicle reaching the image pick up position, a strobe 2 projects light thereby to obtain a still image of the oil level sensor and outputs a signal of the image. Image data obtained by converting image signals from the image pick up device 1 to digital values are binarized according to a plurality of binarization levels to form a plurality of binary image data in the binarizing means. Meanwhile, the oil level-detecting means detects a position of the oil level sensor from the binary image data including the image of the oil level sensor, sets a longitudinal level check line in the oil level sensor, measures vertical coordinates where luminance data of pixels on the check line show a great change and detects the oil level.

Furthermore, a linear equation for the line Rc is determined and the coordinates of eight cross points are determined according to each linear equation and then the lengthof each approximation line, i.e., the effective length of each arm, is calculated based on the difference of coordinate between two cross points and stored 722. Two cross angles are also calculated for each right and left cross point and stored 722. Each data thus calculated is compared 723 with normal.

The system further comprises a signal processing section 8 for opening the shutter of each image receiving unit based on a detection signal fed from the pantograph detector to receive the images of the side faces of two sliders and calculating abrasion for each of two sliders based on the image receiving signal.
