After this, the output is filtered through low-pass filter 14, and the frequency of obtained Doppler signal 15 is counted by counter 16 with every fixed period. Thus, the counted frequency is converted to the speed of flat car 3 to measure the shifting speed of the running car. In this way, the accurate speed measurement is ensured even though other wave sources approximate to the frequency of oscillator 4 may exist.
