    • PURPOSE:To lower an air temperature in and around an air compressor, keeping a machine room in a comfortable temperature, and reduce a trouble rate of the air compressor by installing an exclusive air duct for emitting cooling exhaust airout of the air compressor housed in the machine room to the outside of a locomotive directly, in a cooling device for the electric locomotive. CONSTITUTION:In this AC electric locomotive, the inner part is divided into a cab 1 and a machine room 2, and a filter device 3, a blower 4, a rectifier 5, a transformer 6, an interior ventilating opening 7 and an air compressor 8 are all set up in a part of the machine room, while an air duct 9 is set up under the floor. In this case, there is provided another air duct 12 which directly connects an exhaust air port 10 of the air compressor 8 to another exhaust port 11 leading to the outside air of an engine roof part. Then, cooling air out of the interior ventilating opening 7 is drawn by a blower inherent in the air compressor 8 and, after an inner part of the air compressor 8 and piping are cooled, this cooling air is made so as to be discharged direct to the outside of the locomotive. With this constitution, such a fear that hot exhaust air out of the air compressor stays in and around the compressor is brought to nothing, thus comfortability in the machine room increases.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the solenoid coil in which super-conductive breakdown will be prevented by a method wherein, when a super-conductive coil is manufactured, a fibrous enamel-coated electrically insulated material and conductor, whereon a double coating is performed, are used. CONSTITUTION:Enamel 6, containing epoxy resin as an impregnant, is applied and baked on the surface of a super-conductive conductor 1, and a super-conductive wire rod 7 is formed by winding a fibrous electrically insulated material 2 on the above conductor 1. Then, a super-conductive solenoid coil is formed by winding a plurality of the wire rod 7 in such a manner that they are maintained in a lined up form. Through these procedures, as the enamel 6 is coatd by baking on the super-conductive conductor 1, the adhesive strength between the two materials are high, and also as both enamel 6 and the epoxy resin are organic high molecular compound, their affinity is excellent and the adhesive strength between the enamel 6 and the epoxy resin is high. Accordingly, when tensile stress is applied, no slipping is generated among the conductor 1, the enamel 6 and the electrically insulated material, a rise in temperature is reduced, and no decline of critical value is generated.
