    • A connector for a coaxial cable is provided which has been miniaturized for facilitating its handling and storage, and also for reducing the cost and the number of its electric contact points. The cylindrical connector main body is fitted onto the end of the coaxial cable and secured thereto. In this case, the split clamp which is fitted around the external conductor is engaged in the concave stage portion so as to expose the edge of the external conductor. Hexagon socket head cap screws are screwed into the attachment holes so as to incorporate the contact spacer into the connector main body. As a result, the edge of the external conductor is bent on the outer side along the split clamp to form a flare unit, which is contacted and pressed against the base end surface of the contact spacer and electrically connected. The central contact is made up of a bar-like member integral with the anchor unit with grooves and the male thread unit in order to reduce its size in the cable axis X direction. The male thread unit is made to go through the inside hole of the contact spacer and screwed into a female thread unit of the internal conductor to connect them electrically. The connector is connected with another connector by connection volts which go through the connection holes.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector for a coaxial cable, which sufficiently suppresses shrinkage of a plastic sheath and which can ensure the stable water- tightness, only by modifying a rubber packing, even when the water-tightening between the shrinkable plastic sheath and a connector shell is made by compressing the rubber packing.
      SOLUTION: The connector includes the rubber packing 2, which is pressure- welded on the outer surface of one end of the plastic sheath equipped on an external guide of the coaxial cable, by compressing the packing 2. An annular recess 21 is formed on the inner periphery of the rubber packing 2. A locking metal 3 is inserted in the annular recess 21, so that the metal 3 is locked to the outer surface of the end of the plastic sheath.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect water penetrated inside and prevent insulation failure caused by water, by installing a water detecting part for changing an electric state by existing water between a contact electrically connected to an inner conductor and a cylinder electrically connected to an outer conductor and enveloping the contact. SOLUTION: A water detecting part 50 is installed inside a second connecting cylinder 3 of a connector 110, and an electric state of the water detecting part 50 is charged with water between the second connecting cylinder 3 and a contact. When water penetrates inside the connector 110 and a water drop W comes in contact with the water detecting part 50, an electrode 54 and the connecting cylinder 3 are electrically short-circuited, and electrical resistance between the electrode 54 and the connecting cylinder 3 is remarkably lowered. Electrical resistance between the electrode 54 and the second connecting cylinder 3 is measured with a monitoring circuit 60, a resistance value measured is compared with a reference resistance value predetermined, and if the resistance value measured is lower than the reference resistance value, presence of water is detected.
