    • A method is disclosed for use in wireless communication systems employing dynamic resource allocation schemes (Dynamic Channel Allocation, DCA) together with Link Adaptation (LA) schemes. The method allows to provide individually optimized Quality of Service to each of a plurality of services. This is achieved by exclusively mapping data belonging to one single service to a Physical Data Block. Based on information about the packets, the services and/or the shared physical channels, scheduling metrics are calculated, based upon the scheduling metrics it is decided which of said services is to be served next. Therefore, it is possible to adapt the transmission parameters of physical channels individually to the required Quality of Service of data transmitted over the channel. As a further advantage, the transmission capacity of the physical channel can be economically utilized.

    • The present invention relates a method and a decoder for decoding codewords, the decoding being performed as message passing on a graph representation of the code, e.g. on low density parity-check (LDPC) code, wherein for each non-zero entry in a parity check matrix, the message matrix elements of a first message matrix are initialized with data obtained from a demodulator, and the elements of a second message matrix are determined based on message matrix elements of said first message matrix. Further, a decoded codeword is reconstructed based on the data obtained from the demodulator and the matrix elements of the second matrix. Moreover the present invention relates to and to a communication system, a mobile terminal and a base station comprising the decoder. To reduce the influence of wrong information the decoding method uses subset of matrix elements from said first/second matrix for determining a matrix element of said second/first matrix, wherein the matrix elements of said subset fulfill a reliability criterion.

    • A method is described for scheduling a plurality of data flows to a plurality of shared channels in a wireless communication system transmitting data packets in time intervals of frames and applying adaptive modulation and coding. The method comprises the steps of determining virtual link adaptation parameters for at least a part of all combinations of data flow and shared channel, based on state information from the respective shared channel, and based on Quality of Service requirements for the respective data flow; calculating potential data rates for said combinations of data flow and shared channel, based on said virtual link adaptation parameters; calculating priority values for said combinations of data flow and shared channel, based on said potential data rates; and selecting, based on the calculated priority values, for at least a part of the shared channels, a data flow for which data is to be transmitted on each of these shared channel during the time interval of one frame.
