    • An apparatus for preparing stitch position-related data utilized by an embroidery sewing machine for embroidering a predetermined area by forming stitches at respective stitch positions and filling the area with the formed stitches, including a dividing device for dividing the area into a plurality of sub-areas based on outline data representative of an outline of the area, the outline data including sets of position data each of which is representative of a corresponding one of a plurality of specific positions specified on the outline, and a data producing device for producing sets of sub-area data each of which is representative of an outline of a corresponding one of the sub-areas and determining, based on the sets of sub-area data, an order of embroidering of the sub-areas such that, when the embroidery sewing machine forms stitches with a continuous thread and fills each of the sub-areas by the formed stitches, by utilizing the sets of sub-area data and the order of embroidery of the sub-areas, the continuous thread does not pass over the stitches filling the each sub-area, the data producing device using the sets of sub-area data and the order of embroidering of the sub-areas for producing the stitch position-related data.

    • An embroidery data processing system controls an automatic sewing machine to produce an embroidery design having a blurred side or blurred boundary line between adjacent blocks which make up the embroidery design. The embroidery data processing system includes a first memory storage area for storing side information indicating sides of each of the blocks, a second memory storage area for storing thread density information indicating the thread density of stitches to be formed in said each block, a third memory stoage area for storing in/out patterns indicating how stitching points are to be displaced with respect to the sides of a selected one of the blocks, which are indicated by the side information, and a controller for calculating stitching points depending on the thread density information along the sides of the selected block according to the in/out patterns, and for calculating stitching points depending on the thread density information along the sides of another block than the selected block, which are indicated by the side information. The third memory storage area may store in/out patterns indicating how stitching points are to be displaced with respect to the sides of said each block which are indicated by the side information, and the controller may calculate stitching points depending on the thread density information along the side of said each block according to the in/out patterns.

    • The present invention provides synthetic hair comprising fiber of 30 to 100 decitex, comprising an acrylic copolymer obtained by copolymerizing acrylonitrile, vinylidene chloride and a vinyl monomer containing a sulfonic acid group and a process for preparing the synthetic hair. The synthetic hair of the present invention has favorable surface gloss and excellent knot strength and hair breaking in the sewing machine steps when preparing the weft and in implanting hair to skin when preparing wigs and toupees is improved. The fiber which becomes the synthetic fiber is prepared by preparing a spinning solution containing, in a polymer solution of an acrylic polymer comprising 40 to 74% by weight of acrylonitrile, 25 to 59% by weight of vinylidene chloride and 1 to 5% by weight of a vinyl monomer containing a sulfonic acid group copolymerizable therewith and a good solvent, 5 to 20 parts by weight of water based on 100 parts by weight of the polymer, forming fiber by wet spinning, conducting drawing treatment so that the total drawing ratio becomes 2.5 to 12 times and conducting relaxing treatment so that the total relaxation ratio becomes at least 15%. By this method, synthetic hair is obtained, in which the gloss contrast is at least 0.88, the knot strength is at least 0.5 cN/decitex and the average fineness of the filament is 30 to 100 decitex.
