    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a corrosion prevention method for a cast iron pipe which eliminates the process of outside surface coating without impairing corrosion resistance and weather resistance, has stable quality, and generates no solvent odor, and a cast iron pipe subjected to corrosion prevention treatment. SOLUTION: The corrosion prevention method for a cast iron pipe comprises (1) the process of thermal spraying zinc, zinc-aluminum pseudo alloy, or zinc-aluminum alloy onto the outer surface of the cast iron pipe to form a thermal spray coating layer, (2) the process of heating the cast iron pipe and coating an epoxy resin powder coating material on the inside surface of the cast iron pipe to form an inside surface coating layer, and (3) the process of coating a water-based coating material, which contains, as solid matter, (A) 1-15 pts.wt. of an epoxy ester resin, (B) 5-30 pts.wt. of an acrylic resin emulsion, and (C) 55-94 pts.wt. of an acrylic resin dispersion, wherein the total of (A), (B), and (C) is 100 pts.wt., and which contains pigment (D) having a pigment volume concentration of 35-45%, on the surface of the thermal spray coating layer after the process (2) to form an outer surface coating layer using remaining heat of the process (2).
