    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily and securely expand a diameter of a lock ring regardless of a diameter of a pipe.SOLUTION: The lock ring 4 having a separation part 3 formed on the periphery is provided on a receiving part of a receiving pipe body 1. A diameter expanding jig 11 having a tapered part 12 on the tip is inserted into the inner periphery of the lock ring 4. Due to the insertion, both the tapered part 5 and the tapered part 12 of the inner periphery of the lock ring 4 and the diameter expanding jig 11 are brought into contact with each other to expand the diameter of the lock ring 4. After expansion of the diameter, both ends of the separation part 3 are brought into contact with a stopper 8 to draw the diameter expanding jig 11 while maintaining the expanded diameter of the lock ring 4. The outer diameter of the diameter expanding jig 11 is appropriately determined according to an inner diameter of the pipe body 1, so that the jig is applicable regardless of diameter of the pipe body 1.
