    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a compound represented by formula (VI) in a high yield at a low cost. SOLUTION: This method for producing a compound represented by formula (VI) comprises the first process for protecting the hydroxyl group of a compound of formula (I) (R 1 is a lower alkyl, allyl, phenyl, or benzyl) with a tetrahydropyranyl group or a substituent-having silyl group, the second process for hydrolyzing the ester to obtain a compound of formula (III) (R 2 is the tetrahydropyranyl or the substituent-having silyl), the third process for converting the compound into a mixed acid anhydride and then reacting with optically active 4-phenyl-2-oxazolidinone, and the fourth process for removing the protecting group from the obtained compound.
