    • PURPOSE:To obtain a good cast ingot of uniform quality by controlling the velocity of the molten metal to be supplied to a cooled mold, and acting electromagnetic repulsive force upon the molten metal thereby forming a well part of a stable shape on the cooled mold. CONSTITUTION:Molten metal 10 is supplied from a furnace 1 via a trough 6 into a well part 14 from a nozzle 8 while the rate of supply is being controlled by a stopper 7. This nozzle 8 is properly immersed in the part 14, so as to flow the molten metal at the rate as gently as possible into the part 14. In the part 14, the shape is maintained simply by the pinching force generated by an electromagnetic coil 13, and said shape is controlled by controlling induction force distributions by the shapes of the coil or suitably selected shielding materials. On the other hand, the molten metal supplied into a cooled mold 9 forms a thin solidification shell by the heat deprived of from the mold walls. Next, a cast ingot 17 is drawn from the bottom part of the mold 9 by a cylinder 20, and cooling water 18 is sprayed to the ingot 17 to apply quick cooling effect down to its inside, whereby the ingot of superior internal quality is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To impart good cold forging property to rod steel over the entire length thereof, by a method wherein a rod steel having a predetermined length is intermittently fed into an induction heating furnace in a constant feed length to be rapidly heated to a max. heating temp. and the heated rod steel is taken out therefrom at a stroke and successively fed in a holding furnace to be subjected to the titled treatment. CONSTITUTION:Rod steel cut in a predetermined length is intermittently sent into an induction heating furnace in a constant feed length and rapidly heated to a max. heating temp. of Ac1+30 deg.C-Ac1+80 deg.C. Subsequently, the heated rod steel is taken out at a stroke from the aforementioned furnace to suppress the difference of the max. heating temp. in the rod steel in 30 deg.C or less. In the next step, the treated rod steel is successively sent into a thermostatic holding furnace held to 650-710 deg.C. By this method, continuous spheroidizing heat treatment is applied to the rod steel and good cold forging property is imparted to the rod steel over the entire length thereof.

    • PURPOSE:To perform efficient and automatic quick spheroidizing heat treatment of plural steel bars having a large diameter and a specified length by performing all the operations for feeding successively the steel bars from a feed chute to an induction heating furnace, heating the same to a prescribed temp., taking the bars from the furnace, and supplying the same to an isothermally holding device by means of timers. CONSTITUTION:Many steel bars 19 on a feed chute 3 are put by each piece into a coil-shaped quick induction type heater 5 by the 1st pusher 2. The bars 19 are heated to 800 deg.C in the heater 5 and are pushed out by the succeeding bars so as to be moved onto a chain conveyor 8 until the bars stop moving by contacting with a stop plate 9. The bars are transferred by the 2nd pusher onto a steel bar receiving and transferring part 11 where an open/shut door 16 is opened and are stored in an isothermally holding device 13. The steel bars are held at 700 deg.C in said device and are subjected to a softening heat treatment by spheroidization. The above-mentioned operations are automatically accomplished by means of timers T1-T4. Thus, the quick softening heat treatment of many steel bars is efficiently accomplished.
