    • Previous two-component coatings with enamine components cured very slowly at low temperatures and led to yellowed products. A binder composition is prepared which cures rapidly at low temperatures and leads to non-yellowing products. It contains as CH-acid component a polymer with at least two enamine functions in the molecule, obtained byA) transesterification of a .beta.-keto-ester with hydroxyl-group-containing compounds or polymers which contain at least two hydroxyl groups in the molecule, with an OH value of at least 50 and a number-average molecular weight of 500 to 10,000, followed by reaction with ammonia or primary and/or secondary amines, andB) as .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated component a compound with at least two groups of the general formula R.sub.1 R.sub.2 C.dbd.CR.sub.3 --X; in which X signifies --CO-- which is bonded via the residue of a di- or polyhydric alcohol, a di- or polyamine or an aminoalcohol to a further R.sub.1 R.sub.2 C.dbd.CR.sub.3 --X group, where R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 signify hydrogen or an alkyl group, components A) and B) are present in the ratio 2:1 to 1:1.5 relative to their equivalent weights, the composition exists as a two-component system, and component A) contains a Lewis or Bronsted base as catalyst.

    • This invention relates to copolymers which contain hydroxyl groups and which are based on vinyl esters of monocarboxylic acids, wherein the copolymers which contain hydroxyl groups have an OH number of 110-170 mg KOH/g, an acid number of 5-35 mg KOH/g and a number average molecular weight M.sub.n of 1500-8000 g/mole and are obtainable by the polymerisation of A) 5-20% by weight of one or more vinyl esters of saturated monocarboxylic acids, B) 10-30% by weight of one or more aromatic vinyl hydrocarbons, C) 41-55% by weight of hydroxy-functional, polymerisable, unsaturated monomers, and D) 0-40% by weight of further polymerisable, unsaturated monomers, wherein component C) contains C1) 40-70% by weight of one or more hydroxyalkyl esters of .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated monocarboxylic acids, C2) 1-10% by weight of one or more lactones, and C3) 30-55% by weight of one or more reaction products of an .alpha.,.beta.-unsaturated monocarboxylic acid with a glycidyl ester of a saturated .alpha.,.alpha.-dialkylalkane-monocarboxylic acid or of a saturated .alpha.-alkylalkane-monocarboxylic acid, and the sum of components A) to D) and the sum of components C1) to C3) add up to 100% by weight in each case.

    • A pigment dispersion and its use for the preparation of coating compounds are described. The dispersion contains a pigment, solvent and pigment dispersing agent. The pigment dispersing agent is a copolymer containing OH groups, obtainable by the reaction of:(A) 80 to 95% by weight of a copolymer of:(a) 0.5 to 40% by weight of N,N-di-Cl to 4-alkylamino-C.sub.1 to .sub.8 -alkyl(meth)acrylamides and/or a mixture of N,N-di-C to 4-alkylamino-C.sub.1 to 8 -alkyl(meth)acrylates and N-substituted (meth)acrylamides and/or (meth)acrylamide in which the ratio of amino(meth)acrylates to amido(meth)acrylates should be in the range of from 1:2 to 2:1,(b) 10 to 40% by weight of hydroxy-C.sub.2-8 -alkyl (meth)acrylates and(c) 20 to 89.5% by weight of copolymerizable, .alpha., .beta.-olefinically unsaturated compounds with(B) 5 to 20% by weight of a polyisocyanate containing unmasked and optionally also masked isocyanate groups as well as biuret, urethane or isocyanurate groups.
