    • A hot-melt adhesive comprises a resin composition comprising (a) from 0.1 to 50 parts by weight of a polyolefin resin obtained by copolymerizing 80% by weight or more of a non-polar &agr;-olefin with 20% by weight or less in total of a monomer containing 5% by weight or more of a carboxyl group and a polar &agr;-olefin, or with 20% by weight or less in total of a monomer containing 0.5% by weight or more of an acid anhydride group and a polar &agr;-olefin, (b) from 0 to 80 parts by weight of a copolymer of ethylene and a non-polar&agr;-olefin, or a polyolefin resin containing 20% by weight or less of a polar &agr;-olefin, and (c) from 10 to 90 parts by weight of a polyamide, provided that the total amount of the components (a), (b) and (c) is 100 parts by weight, the resin composition having a melt index of 5 g/10 min or more and less than 500 g/10 min. The hot-melt adhesive resin composition of the invention has excellent adhesiveness to both non-polar and polar adherends. A heat recoverable article using the hot-melt adhesive is valuable for processing a joint and an end of electric cables.

    • Provided is a flame-retardant resin composition that can achieve both mechanical properties and flame retardancy and satisfy stringent heat resistance requirement such as heat resistance with a conductor attached, and an insulated wire, a flat cable, and a molded article made using the flame-retardant resin composition. The flame-retardant resin composition contains a thermoplastic resin, a polyfunctional monomer, and an organic phosphorus-based flame retardant. The thermoplastic resin contains 5% by mass or more of a resin having a carbon-carbon unsaturated bond or a resin having a carbonyl group relative to the entire thermoplastic resin. The organic phosphorus-based flame retardant is at least one selected from the group consisting of a metal phosphinate, a melamine phosphate compound, an ammonium phosphate compound, and a polyphosphazene compound obtained by ring-opening polymerization of cyclophosphazene. The content of the organic phosphorus-based flame retardant is 5 to 100 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the thermoplastic resin and the content of the polyfunctional monomer is 1 to 20 parts by mass relative to 100 parts by mass of the thermoplastic resin.

A second resin composition constituting the second coating layer comprises 100 to 250 weight parts of metal hydroxide and 10 to 100 weight parts of a nitrogen-based flame retardant material per 100 weight parts of the base polymer. Further, the second resin composition does not contain halogenated materials.
