    • A reproducing device for performing reproduction regarding a hologram recording medium where a hologram page is recorded in accordance with signal light, by interference between the signal light where bit data is arrayed with the information of light intensity difference in pixel increments, and reference light, includes: a reference light generating unit to generate reference light irradiated when obtaining a reproduced image; a coherent light generating unit to generate coherent light of which the intensity is greater than the absolute value of the minimum amplitude of the reproduced image, with the same phase as the reference phase within the reproduced image; an image sensor to receive an input image in pixel increments; and an optical system to guide the reference light to the hologram recording medium, and also guide the obtained reproduced image according to the irradiation of the reference light, and the coherent light to the image sensor.

    • Disclosed herein is a data identification method for identifying, from within a readout signal from a recording medium on or in which user data of k bits are recorded using a recording modulation code wherein m bits from among n bits which compose one codeword have a value of “1” while the remaining n-m bits have another value of “0”, the data, n and m being integers including, a first step of delimiting the readout signal in a unit of a codeword and adding, with regard to one of the n-bit codewords obtained by the delimiting, an amplitude of the readout signal of the bits of “1” to 2k different codewords which may possibly be recorded and setting results of the addition as evaluation values, and a second step of finding a maximum value among the 2k evaluation values and outputting the maximum value as an evaluation result.

    • A holographic reconstruction apparatus is provided. The holographic reconstruction apparatus reconstructs recording data recorded on a holographic recording medium from diffracted light generated by emitting reference light from a laser light source to the holographic recording medium. The apparatus includes a spatial light modulator applying spatial modulation on a light beam to form a predetermined reference light pattern for generating the reference light; an array optical detector detecting the luminance of a reconstructed image generated by the diffracted light and generating reconstruction data based on the luminance; and a controller controlling the spatial light modulator to form, as the predetermined reference light pattern, a first reference light pattern and a second reference light pattern, which is a reversal of the first reference light pattern, and reconstructing the recording data on the basis of after-calculation reconstruction data according to a difference between first and second reconstruction data based on the first and second reference light patterns.
